plattopus Posted August 10, 2004 Share Posted August 10, 2004 It could be argued that Kerry Packer saved Test cricket as well, because (contrary to what that article says), popularity of test cricket was actually nowhere near as high as it had been in previous years. With the innovation of World Series Cricket, interest in both forms of the game started to rise. Couple that with the incredible success of the Centenary Test, and Test cricket was well on its way to being a world powerhouse sport once again.
