My original thought seems to be correct........most of you draw on paper first and then scan to trace or make modifications. If it's an animal or person, I'll draw it out and then scan it, and go over it in Illustrator.If it's something like a boat, plane, etc., I'll just find a picture of one and work off of that in illustrator.
