otherwilds Posted June 30, 2005 Share Posted June 30, 2005 Allow me to me preface this with the fact I am an avowed and proud Yankee Hater and disliked Sheffield way back when he wore wristbands with his own image sewn on them. But nonetheless there is not another guy on the that Yankee roster who plays harder and more consistently the he. Sheff is a competitor that I think would consider it a failure on his part if he is not given the chance to help get them back to the series. He is a fierce and passionate competitor which as Harold Reynolds pointed out during the College World Series is something that is sorely lacking in the vast majority of the modern era big leaguer.
