NDwas Posted August 8, 2005 Share Posted August 8, 2005 we're moving to a new home, and in the process of packing i came across this:the "original" logoand something kinda eerie... the tag insidewhat i DO know is that these were for dc's bid to get an expansion team in 1993, but they obviously lost to denver (colorado rockies) and miami (florida marlins) in the running and these were left for shame...comments, questions - shoot Tomorrow's just your future yesterday. My guess is that whomever had the rights to the name only had it during the expansion process and never renewed their patent aftwerwards..... I saw, I came, I left. I think they disbanded as soon as Denver and Miami got the expansion teams. I'm trying to remember who headed it. The ownership group was headed by Chip Akridge who is now one of the developers who has plans for the area around the new stadium.There was depiction of their official logo on TESS.
