Brian in Boston
The Colorado Mammoth of the National Lacrosse League have unveiled a secondary logo.Personally, I'm not crazy about it. While I'm intrigued by the idea of the team creating a logo featuring a depiction of an actual mammoth, the beast depicted in this logo leaves something to be desired. Brian in Boston
Hmm.... I wanna like it, but I just can't. I know what you mean. Something rubs me the wrong way about it. It's not over-the-top "cartoony" (a good thing), but it isn't quite "realistic" enough either. It's splitting the difference between the two styles... and as a result doesn't really work as either one of them.
AAO
Hmm.... I wanna like it, but I just can't. Dude where the hell have you been? You've been on hiatus for like...a year. And I second that, I just can't like it. Behance Network || ianbakar.com || Dribbble
WSU151
Is it me or do the Mammoth and the new team in Denver, the Outlaws, have similar colors? Dark red, gray, black... Brian in Boston
Yeah, the Denver Outlaws' colors are Orange, Black, Silver (Grey) and White.
Avenger
I figured out what bugs me about it... the elipse that encircles the head creates a lot of akward intersections with the tusks, trunk, and ears.Maybe a head on look would have worked better with all of those akward shapes? Brian in Boston
For me, it goes beyond the elliptical containment shape. I just don't think that the head itself is particularly well-rendered. As I said before, it straddles the border between "cartoony" and "realistic" styles. It's like it can't figure out what style it wants to be.
Sterling84
The primary Mammoth logo.....the M with tusks, is really excellent and probably the finest thing Adrenaline has ever turned out.This....blows.And to echo the sentiment, it's not JUST the elipse that ruins it. But at this point, any logo contained in a random elipse automatically is ruined.Elipses stopped functioning with everything after the Avalanche.
