Your Baseball Card Auction of the Day

Check this out kids! It's a rare T-206 Eddie Plank card from 1911. It's called the third most valuable baseball card ever.

This card is from the same set as the famous Honus Wagner card and nearly as scarce. There are an estimated 50-75 Wagner cards and 75-100 Plank cards. What adds to the demand for the Eddie Plank card is the fact he is in the Baseball Hall of Fame as well.

The scarcity of the card is historically attributed as a broken printing plate cutting short the print run, but oddly enough can be found with different tobacco ads on the backs, meaning Plank cards had more than one print run...

Check it out - nearly $22,000 and "reserve not met"!

Were at $33,700 with six hours to go and that pesky reserve still has not been met.

Perhaps the reserve was set at 10 billion dollars just to see how high the bidding would go for kicks.

I really hate reserve pricing. Just list it for the minimum you will take for something and let fate take it from there.
