Jim Rome doesn't normally hit the hammer on the head (at all), but he did yesterday: While he was ripping on Rex, he actually stuck up for him when he said "And what's up with Chicago fans having an obsession to put in Griese? Fact of the the matter is, there's a reason why Griese stayed on the bench."

Reason is simple: Brian Griese wouldn't have made much of a difference. And that's saying something.

When will folks realize that pulling the QB does not solve all of a team's problems? Last time I checked, an offense consist of 11 players.

And 10 of them were playing like the NFC Champions.

Guess which one wasn't.

We know the defense isn't the problem.

They have two great RB's in Benson and Thomas Jones, a very good offensive line, and talent at WR with Muhammad and Berrian... where else can the problems come from?

Well, to be fair, Benson and one of the O-Line players got hurt early on and didn't play the rest of the game.

The Colts focused on stopping the run to force Grossman to make plays. Outside of that 50-yard run in the first quarter, they did pretty well stopping Jones and Benson.

Well, yeah, they did. They did because they were able to put eight men in the box, focus on stopping the run with the knowledge that Rex Grossman couldn't beat them. A good QB keeps the Colts defense honest or makes them pay.

The Colts were able to stop/slow Trent Green, Steve McNair, and Tom Brady by basically doing the same thing they did to the Bears.

Give the Colts credit, they got their defensive act together during the playoffs. The Colts defense won the game rather than Rex Grossman lost it.
