4. I was drafted by the Red Sox, made my debut with the Mets, and ended my career as a Pirate.

5. I played in the post season five times but never won a world series ring.

6. Despite winning three gold gloves, I still took a lot of flack over my glove.

Amos Otis is correct. He was known for using the same glove for a number of years. It actually got to the point where the glove was so worn that it had a hole in the palm. If memory serves he used the same glove for 12 or 13 straight seasons. It was news when he finally went with a new one. It seemed like the announcers would talk about his glove whenever the Royals were on TV.
