5. LF - Manny Ramirez - LAD

I thought Manny Ramirez was an American citizen and would therefore have to play for team USA.

How do you explain Frank Catalanotto on Italy? The rules for the WBC are pretty lenient when it comes to qualifications to play for a certain country.

I just figured that was because Catalanotto and Piazza (and most of the Italian team for that matter) were not good enough to make USA's team. Therefore they could play for Italy. Manny would most likely make the US team. Also I thought I remember reading before the first WBC that if Ramirez were to play, it would be for the USA.

When did Salomon Torres get traded to the Phillies?

Current MLB clubs are irrelevant to this conversation, so please stop nitpicking.

Thank you.

The Venezuelan team is pretty formidable too!

I guess internet sarcasm doesn't work. Sorry to offend, I know that errors can be made.

Eh?

Anyways, you may also recall A-Rod almost played for another team but ultimately chose the United States.
