National Futbol League

Hey all.

The other day I had a crazy idea: what would it look like if the NFL was a soccer league? Same teams and same identities, but a soccer league. So today, I had some time on my hands and decided to make a concept of one jersey to see how it works out. I'll start with my hometown New England Patriots. I decided to use Gillete as the kit sponsor due to the fact that the Pats play in Gillete Stadium. If this one gets good reception and I get some guidance on how to improve my design, I'll do more kits/teams. Those sponsors will be determined similarly. If the NFL team plays in a corporate-sponsored stadium, there's your kit sponsor. Otherwise, the sponsor will be a large/high profile company based in the team's home city/state.

Without further ado, here's the New England Patriots as a soccer team.

Why is the player's name on the back bigger than the number? And it looks like you simply colored in the seperate parts of the uniform (sleeves-red, body of shirt-navy, shorts gray with red stripes) and added the sponsor name on the from and the player name and number on the back, all in plain white.

If you're gonna start a series with these, you need to get some creativeness flowing.

Agreed, you need to input some creativity on this. Try to use some design elements from the football jersey, like the tri-striped socks (I'd make the Patriots an adidas team, LOL, and put the three stripes on the sleeves, too), or the side piping they had. And the back number should be larger.

Thanks for the input. I'll be re-doing this at some point, now that I know the kinds of things I should be doing. I never would have thought of the socks thing, but I think if I sit down with a pen and some paper and really brainstorm, I might be able to salvage this idea.

This is the first concept I've done with a decent knowlege of the tools I could use, and I'd like to broaden my horizons as far as what I can do now that I know more about what I'm doing. I really appreciate your ideas on the creative end of things.

I think you should take another shot at this. We can't really tell how your concepts are going to be from a single concept so try to post one more but make it more creative and we'll see.

It's an interesting and creative idea. But it needs to be executed as such. Work on your designs and get a plan going, then come back and post some stuff. I like the idea behind it, and you should try again. But take your time.
