chickenfish13
Hey guys. Normally Inkscape can open Ai. files, but I have been trying to open some recently, and they tell me an error has occured and to try again later. I've never had this problem before, can anyone help? dribbble
tBBP
Without having an inkling of a clue about InkScape, I'm going to guess that your .ai file was created with a newer version of Illustrator (CS3 or CS4) that may not be backwards compatible???PM gingerbreadmann. He seems to be the resident Inkscape guru around here. He could probably tell you. *Disclaimer: I am not an authoritative expert on stuff...I just do a lot of reading and research and keep in close connect with a bunch of people who are authoritative experts on stuff. || dribbble || Behance ||
gingerbreadmann
Since when can Inkscape normally open AI files? I have never seen that. Sometimes it can interpret them as PDFs, and import them that way, but Inkscape has never had native AI support as far as I know. You probably have to convert it using Ghostscript.
