fishheatcats Posted November 26, 2009 Share Posted November 26, 2009 Well I haven't had time to do a proper concept in a long while, but with the recent unveiling of my Panthers 3rd uniform, I had to do something. Not that the new 3rd doesn't look good. It's really not bad at all on it's own. The problems with it have been beaten to death, Pens knock-off, non-sensical addition of light blue, horrendous shoulder FLA logo, etc. etc. What I've done is something much closer the the Cats' original set. I unified the tan/gold color and went with more traditional striping. I chose to make the alternate white, without any red details for a different look. I think something like this would work well since most of the fans still rock the original version anyway. I bought an EDGE white road once my original jersey got too small, and to be honest I've really grown to like it, but with a decade of no postseason play, much less a postseason win, I think the '96 look making a return would be nice(and maybe they could let us throw plastic rats on the ice again ). The alternate I think needs some red to balance it out from the logo, and I would make the red the home and the white the away with the blue as the alternate. I AM SCORE! As for the jersey itself it looks too much like the colorado rockies with a pointy shoulder yolk. doesn't accomplish much but continuing the current problem with their alt. Bringing back the slanted stripes would help maybe add some white striping inbetween the yellow and red.The road set needs to be the home set. That said, good but needs the slanted striping.The alternate needs to be the road set. and with that, right now it screams buffalo sabres walmart knock off. adding some red would greatly help these jerseys. Maybe change out the navy with red and add navy striping to the yellow stripes. again change the striping from traditional striping to slanted striping. in other words we are probably back to 1999.
