DustDevil61
I didn't even realize this until I stumbled upon this. The Tampa Bay Lightning is being bought by Jeff Vinik, a Boston-area investor. It looks like he has plans to stay in west Florida, as he's also bought the company that owns the St. Pete Times Forum, where the Lightning play. Thoughts? ThePonderer
I don't really know what to think. It could be an ok deal. I think that team that needs to worry most about their future is Atlanta. It's unbelievable how many seats are empty this season. And trading away their star player doesn't help matters.
jkrdevil
Can't be worse than the old owners.
the admiral
Did Vinik pay back the Davidsons as part of this deal? Because if he doesn't then they'll still kind of own a lot of the team.
Jer15
I heard that the St. Pete's Fourm actually makes alot of money outside of the hockey games. Apparently it's just as busy a venue as Madison Square Gardens.
