You'll find everything you need in this thread:

Davidson kindly created all the files you'll need and laid out the BEST set of instructions ever on how to use them. You'll need download each the images individually and and then layer all those individual files up yourself in a single photoshop document to get it to work but if you just follow the steps as Davidson has laid them out you'll manage it no problems at all even if you're not an advanced photoshop user, and the results will be better than the one you've posted as to be honest the shape of the helmet in the example you posted is really off.

Hope this helps

Couldn't find a PS template for the helmet, but was able to find it. Unfortunately it comes @ a cost & requires a different program other than PS. <_<

those are maya/ c4d templates. they are similar to the models i used to make my templates.

Davidson,

Are those templates on those links compatible with PS or does one have to use the 3dStudio Max program?

those arent templates. they are examples of the 3d model.

the templates i made were renders of a 3d model. but you cant open a 3d model in ps.

Photoshop can open the following 3D formats: U3D, 3DS, OBJ, DAE and KMZ. So if you can save the 3D file in any of those formats, you can open and edit it in Photoshop.

honestly, you cannot 'edit' and render out 3d models in photoshop.
