The era of NBA paint-bucket redesigns was infuriating and this one the most of all. Turned a work of art into a big blue blob so they could piggyback off the Mavericks.

100%.  The one with the Mardi Gras Colours was even worse.

I don't mind the addition of copper. Here's what I was thinking for a colorway, with a few different purple options and using the copper from the 1990s Jazz. The 90s Jazz used "purple, light blue and copper", with additional colors, but different shades. This is more "winter tones" than "90s tones" the Jazz previously used.

It looks a little on the drab side...  Like it could use a brighter, additional colour like Orange or the 'Senna' the Coyotes use.  Still, how it looks  on the ice depends entirely on whether the copper is metallic.  The metal-flake material Vegas, L.A and Washington (RR 2.0) use could negate the need for additional swatch.

Selfishly I hope Utah avoids light/powder blue so the Kraken can be the main light blue franchise in the league. Although our primaries are dark blue so that opens the door. Bet they go a light blue primary with a black-dominated logo. Brown would be a nice color to get into the NHL but it’s all about selling merch these days

The Kraken use more of a light teal than a powder blue so I don't see the issue.

I mean the Kraken did end up going with red as one of their accent colours.

Yeah but it ended up being the least prominent swatch in the identity...   Different type of red too, the early brand-development shade was more of a 'salmon.'

I really liked Vegas' red reverse retro sweater with their secondary logo on the chest. Promote that one to full time rotation in place of the gold one

Would have been the perfect alternate with the inaugural primaries...  Too bad the Gold jersey ruined their bid for perfection.

Gaudy 🤝 Vegas. Is it ugly? Yes. Does it scream "Vegas"? Yes.

Maybe it does but I can't get behind those gold uniforms because the original grey's looked so much better.  The Knight on the logo is gold so I don't understand why they had to have a gold base in the first place.  The original branding was a home run and the gold jersey ruined it IMO.

  7. Not a single one of these proposed names is screaming "home run."  But then again, Golden Knights sounded ridiculous at first and they knocked it out of the park with their branding...  Until they made the gaudy gold jersey their primary.

Blizzard, Fury, Venom, Yetis.  Seriously, it’s the NBA expansion version of Heat, Magic, and Thunder.  F- choices.

Agreed, all terrible choices.  They can do better.

  9. I would argue that we have more than enough classic looking teams.  With Arizona having one of the most distinct designs in league history (talking about their Kachina look) I would like to see something similarly unique.  Unique but not overtly cartoony.  Seattle nailed this balance with their logo...  Not so much with their striping.

I wouldn't mind them wearing colors like this. In fact, Utah Phoenix has a nice ring to it 😆-

Maybe a dark forest green instead of Navy?

Too similar to Calgary.  They need something more unique than that.

  11. Without the (non-sublimated) storm flag striping and silver accents, they look just like any other Red, Black and White team...  The inaugural set is miles better than the red Adidas version and its conceptual white counterpart.
