  1. It's ok as an alt look but both IT and FR should have white shorts as their primary.
  2. To reinforce your point, such a late announcement would not fit within the standard uniform and equipment ordering lead times so even pre-existing throwback designs seeing the field this year does not seem likely.
  3. This font conjures 2 thoughts: Baseball and heat pressed.
  4. It's better but why the oval? If you want to evoke the jet imagery without a plane, the '78 logo is a perfect start as it really evokes era of jet-set era airline logos.
  5. did you get that off reddit?
  6. Wait until roster cutdowns when they inevitably release the wrong one...
  7. I did see it for what it was and made the mental connection rather quickly it's not a reach to think that the concept is not a good fit for a franchise named the new england patriots.
  8. I think it's a nice cleaned up design but I get too much of a ole miss vibe from the gray pants/white jersey and given miss' past association with the confederacy I would go a different direction.
  9. Last year was also a real anomaly with expanded rosters, opts outs and the like. I personally can't wait for them to go full college in 2022 and allow duplicate numbers.
  10. The only maker's mark since the late 80's early 90's was riddell because they paid to be the official supplier. Also for a couple decades you only had 2 shells on the field, riddell and schutt so the schutt's were either unbranded or had team branding on the bumpers.
  11. Unless there are some major player transactions one the veteran side I don't see too many number changes at this point due to the retail timing. Rookies on the other hand will be in play for college numbers.
  12. Still not too late for nb to do footwear and bring back champion for the uniforms...
  13. The rugby system is rigid but kind of neat. Imagine the starting 22 in the nfl using a number system you could do a position centric numbering system using the first digit. Example: QB: 10's HB: 20's FB: 30's TE: 40's C : 50's G: 60's (odd left/even right) T: 70's (odd left/even right) SE/FL/WR: 80's (odd left/even right) Obviously a system this rigid would imply very limited substitution and rather static lineup/formation (impractical with modern gridiron) which is more common in rugby/soccer but kind of an interesting hypothetical.
  14. I think the prevalence of the spread offense and the fact that so many players fit into a hybrid skill player mold these days has pretty much made the traditional system obsolete. With that being said, I did appreciate the fact that the nfl over the 20th century brought some additional structure to the pro game that set it apart from college. With the uniform guidelines being heavily relaxed and now this, the visual distinction from college is becoming less and less which is a bit of a disappointment.
  15. I've lost track of the naming conventions for all of their templates but this design is a step backward with the added seams and panels. Minimalism has never really been nike's think but the current fusion something or other really is peak uniform template. With that being said, you can definitely shoehorn a 00's miami hurricanes design into this.
  16. These are relevant points but snyder seems to have the inate ability to double down into negative space so I think this is going to be one of those it will get worse before it gets better scenarios.
  17. You know what's even more stupid? Allowing the colossal a-hole owner to buy out his owners and take full control of the franchise and drive them further into the ground. Just disband them already and start anew.
  18. Amazing call as nobody else could have put 1 and 1 together to arrive at your conclusion.
  19. I will say that safety was not a part of it as there is zero empirical evidence backing such a policy. This OHR was intended provide the media a meaningless factiod that they could amplify to he public because it was overly simplistic and made it sound like the league was taking head injuries very seriously. It's no different than setting up a fake initiative complete with website/branding etc. or saying you are committed to X cause because you dedicated an unknown % of proceeds. It's optics and nothing more.
  20. nike made a t shirt with that logo a few years back...not sure if they sell it now but the bears team store in the past has had a wide array of retro logo merch that was really nice...this was all pre-fanatics mind you.
  21. This should be the 1st question when before ever accepting a redesign. Is it an improvement over what we currently have? More often than not the answer is NO. In the case of JAX they got it right year 4 and have been thrashing around ever since.
  22. Any idea who is wearing 7? I tried looking up the roster and I'm clueless.
  23. They should have just brought back the '94 home throwback. Such a missed opportunity.
  24. Combine gear and any shoes/gloves on field. They must really be hurting financially than publicly known and it seems awkward that they will only have a cfb presence which may lead be no presence over the next year or two.
