I like the colors of the new crest. However, am I the only one who thinks this club is named the Seattle Space Needles instead of the Sounders?

WNBA pivots from Sacramento to San Francisco. Seems the League is hoping that the second time is the charm for Portland.

NYRB definitely gave up years ago and are just using the team as a very weak advertising vehicle and not too interested in running a successful club. Especially with NYCFC in the mix. They really should've pivoted to being New Jersey's team, the way the Devils have always been, and work on the support that way. They realy do feel like Chivas USA. A team that doesn't really represent their home market trying to rep another area that doesn't care much about them and already has a team to support.
Sure NYCFC came after NYRB where LAG came before CDCUSA... it still is pretty close. And both are doomed to failure.
Even the NY/NJ MetroStars days were plagued by on-field playing and coaching inconsistencies. Overall, the club has had some success in the regular season and a fluke playoff run in 2008, but other than that they've been disappointing. I was at the NY/NJ MetroStars' first-ever home game in 1996, aka the "Curse of Caricola", and that match has been the unfortunate epitome of the club.

It seems like a great opportunity to name San Diego's MLS expansion club, Loyal FC, instead of FC San Diego or San Diego FC.

Pacific Coast teams are about to be in the Atlantic Coast Conference because why not

Not like the ACC can rename itself the Coast to Coast Conference since that name is already taken.

Most Caps fans seem happy about this deal, but it isn't even going to kick in until he's 30. I'd say there's a near zero chance that he makes it to the end of this contract in Washington. I'm guessing either a buyout or he gets to live out his last days on LTIR.
32 minutes ago, dont care said:Or he could be traded to the coyotes like the rest of the misfit toys.
Wilson could possibly be the next Caps captain once Ovie retires. I doubt they'll trade him.
However, there is speculation that the Caps end up trading Mantha, Kuzy, or both during the upcoming season if playoffs aren't in reach. -
And the best part is that the Phillies have 10 more seasons with Turner on the roster unless they dump his contract elsewhere.

Im interested in how this plays out. Especially with the USSF division standards. Some teams dont even meet the standards of moving up to DII, and dont even have their own venue to make renovations to meet those standards. Plus USL has for the last several years been trying to get teams out of baseball stadiums and into their own soccer specific venues, but it has been a very slow and tedious process, that as a result, Reno and Fresno dropped out of the USL Championship entirely (Fresno has since returned to USL1 at the 1,000 seat Fresno State Soccer Stadium, while picking up where Fresno FC left off in trying to build a new stadium). Efforts for new stadiums are underway for El Paso, Indy, Iowa, Memphis, Milwaukee, New Mexico, Oakland, Oklahoma City, Pawtucket, Sacramento, Fresno, Greenville, Lexington, Knoxville, Omaha, Santa Barbara, Spokane, and Brooklyn, as well as Northwest Arkansas announced today, but most of these projects has seen little movement, public funding support and other issues that are slowing down the efforts. Projects in Queens and Fort Worth have recently failed entirely and have been abandoned.

Baltimore was intended to host the ASG in 2016. As in pen on paper, but San Diego swooped in last second because “SoCal Vibes” or whatever.
I wouldn’t be saying “shafted” if that never happened.
Baltimore might not get the 2025 ASG but I can see them getting the 2027 ASG to celebrate Camden Yards 35th anniversary.

The whole 2026 logo identity/package is a slap in the face for the most prestigious event in the sport.
The design is even worse than the 2012 Summer Olympics logos, which were a laughingstock!- 2

@MJWalker45, I cannot quote you for some reason, but perhaps that's exactly what Lalas did! I sense a conspiracy. /sarcasm

It's all Alexi Lalas' fault!

If filling your final four with downtrodden NHL franchises, why leave out Arizona? In the 2000s, they've sucked and are ignored much much more than Minnesota.
That's an easy exclusion. The NHL's propped-up franchise doesn't deserve the chance to compete for a championship until they have moved out of Arizona. Until that happens, the Coyotes can continue their downward spiral into oblivion.

Minnesota lost to Anaheim in the 2003 Western Conference Finals. They were swept, so it's pretty much as if they were never there.
That's a great reminder! I forgot about that series. Giguere put up insane stats.

But go ahead. Give me a hockey Final Four that wouldn't pi$$ fans off. I'll wait.
MIN vs WPG | BUF vs CBJ
2 teams that have never made the conference finals (CBJand WPG), 1 team that hasn't escaped the first round since the 2015-16 season (MIN), along with the team that currently has the longest playoff drought (BUF).

Honestly, with Florida up 3-1 and Hurricanes winning the likelihood of Carolina-Florida in the ECF feels like a Bettman fever dream.
Bettman's wet dream is having all the Sunbelt teams in the Conference Finals.

That’s the most corny and wordy way to announce you tweaked a color and removed a logo outline. This age of social media marketing in which everything needs to be “that deep” is really making market-speak insufferable these days. Man.To be fair, someone from marketing worked their ass off to come up with the corporate bullship.

2026 FIFA World Cup (USA/Mexico/Canada)

With the 2030 World Cup being played on 3 continents, this almost assures that the 2034 World Cup will be played in Asia. Rumors have it that Saudi Arabia is pretty much a lock for that tournament.
