To me, it's a better measure of so-called "market size" than metro area.
The only reason I have this information at all is because a lot of my 9-5 job deals with advertising.
The household info is useful if we're just talking about TV ratings, but it's tough to do an apples-to-apples comparison if we're talking about anything else. The population figures I provide allow this information to be used alongside Metro and Combined Statistical Area figures.
The main file I have has that metro/CSA breakdown built-in, along with some demographic and economic data. Unfortunately, I cannot give that info out, as I feel like someone would steal it and use it for their own benefit without giving me any credit. Nothing like that has happened because of this board, and I doubt the this would happen even if I did give the file out. But I no longer trust anyone with my work.Determining whether to use MSA or CSA is tricky when displaying maps as a graphic. It sounds like you have valuable geospatial data. I recommend keeping it under lock and key rather than making it freely available for anyone to use, run analysis on, and not give you any credit.

That's a cool map. I just found this interactive Nielsen Media Markets map after a quick Google search.

What statistical area are you using to calculate the US cities population?

Similarly, the Caps bow out to the Panthers as well, though that result was a lot more expected. Florida moves on for the first time since '96 with this series victory.
The Caps are ruing their missed chances to be up 3-1 in the series let alone winning it. There were too many blown leads and too little accountability. I'm happy that they managed to win 2 games in the series, but man would have been awesome if they finally made it past the first round. Just like the Kings, we haven't won a round since winning the Stanley Cup.
I expect there to be significant roster changes in the offseason, preferably jettisoning older vets in any way possible. The team needs to get younger to compete in today's NHL. I also believe that this is the start of many lean years for the Caps as Ovechkin pursues Gretzky's regular season goal record. If the Caps make it back to the playoffs again, it might be another one-and-done series.

The Caps have blown a 2-1 lead with minutes to go in Game 4 and a 3-0 lead after the first period in Game 5.
I don't have high hopes for Game 6. It would be a miracle if they force a Game 7. -
OVG is handling the Coyotes' team sponsorship sales while they play at ASU during the next three seasons.
It's not about the stadium lease agreement.- 1

The logo looks like a butthole.

The above graphic is wrong. The logo on the left wasn't in use until 2005.
Here are the original logos from 1993 when they were in the APSL. They used the same logo on the left when in the A-League.

We did it!
I'm currently waiting in my car on the 7th floor of a parking garage and have been in this place for about 10 minutes and I might actually never get home...but worth it. 3-0 in a final! Greatest MLS team of all time. Simply amazing.
Congrats to the Sounders and their fanbase on this historic achievement! It's fitting that the most consistent MLS club will represent CONCACAF in the next FIFA Club World Cup.

I like what the Giants did with their two first round picks. Here's hoping they bear fruition on both sides of the ball.

Oakland drew a crowd of 3,748 for last night's game against the Orioles. It was the smallest crowd in nearly 42 years.

Yeah, because I've basically never seen a Weagle-front jersey concept I've actually thought was made better from the Weagle's place as primary; it's got way too much negative space to work as a primary logo when combined with how tall and wide the logo is. The Weagle works as a compliment, it looks fine on merchandise, but as a primary logo used for media graphics and all of that, it's kind of lacking.
There's a good reason the Caps limit the Weagle's usage to where it actually works; as a shoulder patch, as a media graphic and on merchandise.
Also, it'd defeat the point of Reverse Retro to just make a Frankenjersey of elements from all over their history, anyways; there's stretching the definition and then there's just not actually bothering with it and just making an alternate because you didn't feel like trying.
To be honest, the Caps are one of the teams that could get away with a Frankenjersey. They could put the Weagle on the red 1974-75 jersey EVEN if it looks similar to the Columbus CBJ jersey.
That would look better than some of the Reverse Retros from 2021, e.g., Minnesota, NYR, Philly, and Dallas. -

Are you and I seeing the same jersey? I’d buy that thing in a heartbeat if it didn’t cost $200 and would be sold out within milliseconds of it going live.
I still think a blue capitol building jersey with the ‘98 color scheme and design would’ve been the best possible option, but I’ll definitely take this as a consolation prize.
Yes, I am seeing the same jersey. Just not a fan of the approach to this concept.

Lucas Daitchman @ldconceptssays a black Screamin’ Eagle jersey will be the Caps’ RR jersey.
These will probably sell out fairly quickly in the area
I know that it is a concept and not the official jersey, but that is fugly.
Is it really that challenging to put the Weagle on the front of the jersey?- 1

The NHL has no need to keep recycling teams and venues. There are plenty of potential matchups I can think of off the top of my head.
- Isles vs. Rangers at MetLife
- Avalanche vs. Wild at
InvescoEmpower or Coors Field- Caps vs. Canes at FedEx Field
- Devils vs. Rangers at Rutgers
Hell, if they can give Dallas and Nashville a Winter Classic they can give Tampa and Florida a game too.
Three out of the four potential matchups have been or will be featured in the Stadium Series games. The Avs/Wild is the lone exception. That would be awesome match-up if it happened in the next 2 seasons.

That logo they are using on the side of the seat is a brand new logo.

IDAHO
I'll admit that I actually had a very difficult time making Idaho's license plates. The current license plates encapsulate the mostly rural and mountainous state pretty well, and any attempt to recreate these 1928 potato plates was thwarted by a potato that looked like a turd . I also wanted to stay away from using brown because I'll be reserving that color for neighboring Wyoming at the very end of the series. Ultimately, I decided to keep it simple just so that I can move on to the next state
This Idaho license plate redesign is inspired by the various green-on-white license plates used between 1968 and 1991, as well as the white-on-black Idaho state highway signs used until 2020. As a nod to the state’s famous potatoes, a mountain landscape is depicted using French fries.

It is definitely one of my weaker designs simply because I was so stuck on it (this state frankly doesn't have too many distinctive factors) and wanted to move on. I also definitely got huge Montana vibes out of this design, so I agree with you there as well
---
Idaho is a golden opportunity to pivot from potatoes and mountains to create new license plates based on their other state symbols.
Their state amphibian, gem, flower, or horse are good options.

The Group of Death is clearly Mexico, Argentina, and Poland, isn't it? Saudi Arabia clearly doesn't have a chance, and I can't see Mexico having one either.
Is it really a Group of Death if you don't give Saudi Arabia and Mexico a chance?

I hope Ukraine or Scotland wins the playoff (prefer Scotland). Wales has a ton of quality. If Wales advances, the US’s group will be rather unfair IMO. All four would be ranked as one of the 21 teams in the world.
Wales and Iran would have both been Pot 3 teams, same with Ukraine, had they concluded their playoff before the draw. But oh well.
Having said that, this is a good group for the US, or at least it’s a group we should advance from. Even if Wales or Ukraine advance to the World Cup, the US is better than both of those teams. If we can manage a result against England, we should advance no matter what. I’m confident the US will beat Iran and then just need a result against England or the UEFA playoff winner.
It could have been a lot worse. I’m rather relieved.
Canada also got probably the best group they could have hoped for. They knew going in they were going to have to face at least two of the world’s best teams, Belgium and Croatia are beatable, or at least Canada could get a result against one of them. They should be able to beat Morocco as well.
Should be a good World Cup!
If that's the case, then we're officially in the Group of Death regardless of what the pundits say. I sense that most people believe the USMNT will beat Iran and Wales/Scotland/Ukraine in Group Play, but none of those national teams are automatic victories. I recall that the media hyped up a win against Iran back in the 1998 World Cup, and unfortunately, that didn't go exactly as planned. -
USA drawn with UEFA Path A winners (Wales, Scotland, or Ukraine)
-
Relieved for the USMNT to be back in the World Cup. Wouldn't be surprised if we're paired with our nemesis, Ghana, in Group Play or meeting in the Round of 16. To be honest, Ghana is a great litmus test.
-
Cherry blossom overkill. This is a swing and a miss.

Congrats Canada on your dominant Octagonal run and World Cup berth.
