If only they would slap a pink goatee on that panther and pay homage to Texas' best metal band.

    Texas Panteras

No... it needs to be FORT WORTH and specific to Fort Worth, period.

Like I said, it's rare for our city's name to be seen and heard on the national stage without Dallas, first.

"Panther City" is specific to Fort Worth, but it's also vague and unknown to people who dont live here.

There's a floorball team named the Fort Worth Panthers; maybe they have the trademark?

Probably... (what the hell is "Floorball"?)

As far as the PCLC name, I'm still conflicted...

On one hand, it's one of a very, VERY RARE opportunity for Fort Worth to stamp its name on a national product.
On the other hand, not only could it be a conversation starter, but it's also elevating the Panther City moniker more so and moving further away from the "Cowtown" imagery, which for a city our size and constantly growing needs to happen.

  3. The newest expansion team for the National Lacrosse League and for the city of Fort Worth:

    FW_PrimaryLogo_OnDark_RGB.png

...looks like we went the "Washington Football Team" route with ours. I'm conflicted with both the name and logos.

The name: One one hand, I'm glad we're stepping away from the stereotypical cowboys and cattle route for this and using the "Panther City" moniker that's not used nearly enough, imo... but on the other hand, they're not using the actual city's name, which is a major issue for Fort Worth and has been for years.

The logo: Looks great. Has the TCU colors (with a little red splashed in, giving an underrated color combo more use) and the panther itself looks sharp with the lone star on top... but the outline of it will make people think San Antonio and the Alamo, not Fort Worth and The Stockyards

    Rams Week 4

I updated the size of the "RAMS" wordmark and the NFC logo to better match the actual field.

I expect the Rams to go with this field for the rest of the season, except for maybe Week 11, as they will be in color rush uniforms.

I also think in later games they will paint in the center part of the facemask. Looks like they just forgot to paint the inner part, or just didn't have time before the game, but they have the outline.

Why is this so satisfying to see...?

When I was doing my organizing, I wanted to make sure the divisions had some degree of geographical accuracy. All of those colleges are in  the Dallas area. It was a note for myself.

As a native of Ft. Worth... "DFW" is more accurate a label. We don't belong to Dallas and Baylor is more than 70 miles away. I know that ain't much in Texas, but still...

Denton is a small college town and UNT uses Dallas in its marketing, so that's understandable. But you don't wanna do that for TCU. Historically, it's insulting. Just sayin'

I love how you incorporated the sleeping panther, an old story for those who don't should find out

    (here ya go, http://vanderkrogt.net/statues/object.php?webpage=ST&record=ustx26)

and it's simple, would love to see that up on the flag pole.

Thanks. I wanted this entire flag to represent several different things about Ft. Worth.

The middle white and 3 red stripes comes from the 1912 city flag (notice "The Panther City" label):

    us-tx-fw1912.gif

The the blue on top and bottom represents the sky and the Trinity River. And of course the star in the shield represnts the Lone Star State.

I wish WE could have a flag contest. Certainly need it.

I really, REALLY hate our flag. You can barely even call it a flag... it's just a logo with text on a white sheet.

Made one of my own last year with a bit more meaning.

    SCHEDULING:

    FBS 1A:

Each conference has 16 teams, 2 divisions.
Every team MUST play 12 games each season.
Every team MUST play their 7 divisional rivals, leaving 5 games to schedule.
Of the 5 games remaining to schedule:

    - 1 MANDATORY game against team in opposite division of the same conference.

    - 2 MANDATORY games against other League 1A opponents in any conference.

    - 1 optional game against a League 1B school.

    - 1 optional game against an FCS school

    FBS 1B:
Each conference has at least 12 teams, 2 divisions.

Every team MUST play at least 10 games each season.
Every team MUST play their divisional rivals with at least 3 games to schedule
Of the games remaining to schedule:

    - 1 MANDATORY game against team in opposite division of the same conference.

    - 2 optional games against League 1A OR League 1B opponents in any conference. (MUST schedule at least 1)

    - 1 optional game against an FCS school

As far as the American and C-USA are concerned, It would be mandatory for them to play 12 games.

    PLAYOFFS:

    FBS 1A

•8 teams, #1 and #2 in the nation on opposite sides of the bracket.
•4 spots reserved for Conference Champions.
•Remaining 4 spots are determined by the four highest rankings in AP polls of teams that have not clinched a playoff spot.
•FBS 1B teams may qualify for one spot in the playoffs IF that team is undefeated and within the Top 8 of the AP poll.
•First Round of playoffs would have games played in the highest seeded team’s home stadium.
•Second Round of playoffs would resemble today’s model of the CFP, where the remaining 4 teams would play in 2 of the “New Year’s Six” Bowls
•First Round of playoffs would begin the week after the Conference Championships

•Second Round and Championship Game would follow the current CFP schedule.

    FBS 1B

•4 team playoff, however, the 1B Playoffs technically begin during the conference championships.

•All four spots are reserved only for conference champions.
•Like the current CFP, six rotating Bowl Games will be associated with this playoff for the first round.
•The official name of the title game will be the American Championship Game
•The first round will begin the week before the 2nd round of the 1A playoffs, and the American Championship Game will take place the week before the CFP National Championship Game.
•The site of title game could be a decision of either taking place at the same site of the CFP National Championship Game or a different, smaller stadium.
•The Coaches Trophy/Crystal Ball would return for American Championship.

Bowls associated with FBS 1B playoffs:
Alamo / Gator / Holiday / Las Vegas / Liberty / New Orleans
