  2. Maybe all the good names were taken and they didn't want to steal from a previous operation? lol But it's cheaper to use the name of a previous operation, and no one would know the difference!
  3. World famous para-athlete Rick Hansen. WHHYYYYYY!!?!?!??!

  5. I have to agree it was dreadful, I saw a Kessel Leafs third, the white one from past seasons, with the Reebok writting on the back of the neck as opposed to the logo. Did you by chance see me in my California Golden Seals jersey? I had many compliments Nope. Most random jerseys I saw were a Erik Cole Hurricanes, a blank Whalers, and a Blue Jackets jersey.
  6. Played "spot the fake" at the Outdoor Classic. It was ugly.
  7. Things I've learnt from this thread- Gordie Howe has worn just about every possible hockey jersey going, at one time or another. Gordie also modeled the dark jersey of the (then-) new San Jose Sharks on February 12, 1991. I've been hunting everywhere for a picture of it but have had no luck so far. I remember seeing it on the news when it happened though! Here's a couple of cool links talking about the expansion San Jose Sharks' jersey unveiling: Part 1 and Part 2 I bow before your superior searching skills, sir... I was all over the newspaper archives, looking for that pic too. Where'd you find it? Someone posted it in this thread back in 2008. I had seen it in the early pages a few weeks ago when I was bored. One search later, there it was.

  10. Three for the price of one. For all those that are going to freak out on me about Gilmour, it was from the 24 seconds he spent with the Leafs in 2003.
  11. no thats the right uniform for him. he was a favorite of mine through out the years, especially during his islanders run. He played 27 games for them!
  12. Kirk Muller on the Islanders and taking his talents to South Beach
  13. In honour of his 500th goal, Jarome Iginla as a Dallas Star.
  14. Yep, I fell for that back in 2006 before I understood the fake jersey market. I got a Lance Briggs jersey that looked close to legit if you overlooked the bubbly numbers and the fact that the back numbers were sewn on at a 10 degree angle. The seller accepted the return, but I didn't report him to ebay for fear he would leave me negative feedback. Don't trust ANY seller on ebay unless he provides numerous photos of the jersey from different angles. If you are unsure or see that the same photo is used for multiple postings (by that seller or others), message him and ask him for more photos, such as a close-up of the sleeve numbers. Any listing with a picture of an authentic jersey with no background to the image (just the jersey) is taking an image from NFL.com or another legit website and using it to cover for the fakes they are selling. Yeah, but that's true for buying anything online. That's not specific to the counterfeit jersey market. If you're EVER buying ANYTHING online that you haven't seen in person yourself, you're running the risk of being screwed. Even if there are multiple photos from multiple angles, that doesn't mean . They could still be fake. That said, certain kinds of jerseys are almost never faked. I got a Lady Liberty jersey and a Blue Jackets original season jersey off Ebay, and they're both 100% legit. If the jersey is a) blank and b ) Starter or ProPlayer, it's likely legit.
  15. Man, that's obviously a fake. And Kessel still signed it? AND the seller wants $800 for it? Unreal. Wouldn't be surprised if the autograph is fake too.
  16. This jersey was designed by Jacob Barrette, the same guy that "helped with" the Sens' third jersey. http://www.icethetics.info/blog/2011/11/2/winnipeg-jets-bridging-the-gap.html
  17. Was in a perfectly legit independent store this weekend, and was surprised to find a lot of knockoffs. A lot of legit jerseys, too.
  18. Not sure if I've mentioned this yet, but this is my favourite Blue Jays logo:
