  1. Yea, but the west side stadium is going to fail. Most experts are predicting that the stadium will fall through because public pressure against it. The Jets have said that if the Stadium falls through they will probably stay in New Jersey. It was a hypocritical statement on your part. As for the unis, like I said earlier, I liked the previous ones better. With the red numbers it reflected these unis with still fitting in the scheme. Fail? It is all but a done deal. They've even been given the Super Bowl in 2010.
  2. 1) I would never have refered to the Giants as the "New Jersey Giants" if the Jets weren't getting the hell out of Giants Stadium in a few years. Jersey can keep the Giants for all i care. 2) Let's hope this is just a one season thing before they get their hands on the home unis and mess those up too. Since it seems to me that you're a Giants fan, I hope you like them since I guess it's really your opinion that matters most.
  3. Nice page. Too bad I don't read or speak freaky deaky Dutch.
  4. I'm chiming in a lil late cause i just scrolled up... That commercial was classic. "That's great, but who are the Chefs??"
  5. I'd like to see the NFLs uniform numbering system reworked for WRs and TEs. Last year it seemed like every WR drafted ended up wearing #11 or some other teen number, and this year is looking the same. Randy Moss and Plaxico Burress are also going with teen numbers after joining their new teams. I'd like to see WRs go back to always having numbers in the 80s. For some reason it just seems right. Here's the system I propose: 1-19 Quarterbacks and Kickers 20-49 Running Backs and Defensive Backs 40-49 Running Backs, Defensive Backs and Tight Ends 50-59 Centers and Linebackers 60-79 Defensive Linemen and Offensive Linemen 80-89 Wide Receivers 90-99 Defensive Linemen and Linebackers
  6. Heath actually wore #21...just for clarification. Exactly what number did the great Tennessee QB, Heath Shuler, wear in the NFL? His career was so short, I can barely recall. If I'm not mistaken, he wore 5 with the Skins. I could have told you that. I was just attempting to take a shot at FeenVol.
  7. The New Jersey Giants (and I do stress NEW JERSEY) once again came up short on these uniforms. They need to completly ditch this retro look becasue it's not woring for them at all. What they wore in the 50s and 60s looks pretty weak to begin with. The only thing I would keep is the NY logo, but that is even wrong seeing how they pretty much belong to NJ now. The Giants should just scrap this look and go with something modern, something like the Mets would do. Mix in a little black. Throw on some fancy new numbers and stripes. Anything would be better than their awful retro look.
  8. It looks like Brock Berlin will get a shot with the Dolphins. No word on Jason White yet. Also, Anthony Munoz's son, who played at Tennessee, quit football because he went undrafted.
  9. I came across this regarding Benson's number in Chicago. http://www.chicagobears.com/news/chalkTalk.jsp?id=7986

  11. I figured he would get a chance. Too bad it's in AZ.
  12. Benson should take 31 or 39 and follow in the tradition of first round Chicago busts.
  13. Damn, i forgot about Mr. Walter getting drafted by Oakland. Regardless, he's not starting over Collins, yet.
  14. Why don't the Bears just re-hire Ditka?
  15. Speaking of the Pats, why didn't Brady keep #10 (his number at Michigan) when he was drafted? Did someone have it at the time or did he just wanna wear #12 instead? i found this on the website www.absolutebrady.com/DidUNo.html Tom Brady, No. 12 on his Uniform Number: "I think I showed up my first day and I had a 12 in my locker. I just said, 'Wow -- 12. I didn't really pick 12.' But my mom said there's been a lot of great 12s. So I stuck with 12. I wore it in high school. It's just a standard quarterback number. But I loved 8." I did some research myself and found that punter, Lee Johnson wore #10 on New England at the time Brady came into the league in 2000. That would explain why he didn't get #10, but nobody on the 2000 Pats roster had #8.

  17. New York's first selection (2nd Round, 47th overall) Mike Nugent will wear #1 on Sundays.
  18. And then his groin exploded. At least he did it as a Cub. (Post #200. Sweet!)
  19. Last year, Michael Barrett of the Cubs gave #5 to Nomar, who was wearing #8 after he was aquired, in exchange for nothing. The only stipulation was that Nomar seriously consider a return to the "Northside Nine" when his contract expired in the off-season. As you all know, Nomar reup'd with Chicago.
  20. This year's parade will be in honor of Andy Stokes, Tight End out of William Penn, drafted by New England 255th overall.
  21. I would hope they start Collins over Marques Tuiasosopo, David Rivers(?), or Bret Engemann(??).
  22. I think everyone could see this coming. It's too bad he didn't play more than he did when he was younger because he was putting up hall of fame-type stats there toward the end of his career.
