  1. It's official, TCU will join the Big XII July 1, 2012.
  2. Now its just getting ridiculous. If that is the direction this realignment is going to take place, then what is the point of even having conferences? It's just their last ditch effort to maintain their BCS AQ status. May it fail miserably. Ai Obviously... but wouldn't it almost be better to try and pick up some MAC schools that going out to Boise State and Air Force? I mean, are they really thinking that flying across the country can maintain conference stability? MAC schools aren't going to help them retain AQ status when it runs out in 2 years. After the 2013-14 season, they'll basically be reevaluated. These schools give them a better chance at saying an AQ conference, however I think they're gonna end up losing Louisville, Cincinnati and UWV to probably the Big XII, maybe UWV to the SEC if they go 16, and even possibly USF to the Big XII. So I think they're gonna end up losing they're AQ status or folding as a football conference altogether. What is UWV? UWV is an autonomous administrative authority (ZBO) and is commissioned by the Ministry of Social Affairs and Employment (SZW) to implement employee insurances and provide labour market and data services. The Dutch employee insurances are provided for via laws such as the WW (Unemployment Insurance Act), the WIA (Work and Income according to Labour Capacity Act, which contains the IVA (Full Invalidity Benefit Regulations) and WGA (Return to Work (Partially Disabled) Regulations)), the Wajong (Disablement Assistance Act for Handicapped Young Persons), the WAO (Invalidity Insurance Act), the WAZ (Self-employed Persons Disablement Benefits Act), the WAZO (Work and Care Act) and the Sickness Benefits Act. Or, the University of West Virginia.

  4. Hearing Mizzou is getting close to having the votes to get in. And yes Auburn would shift which is no big deal. They'll allow them to play every year still probably and have the potential for them to meet in the SEC championship game.
  5. Ucf is the only one of those schools that makes since logisticallyish since it is in the east. This is why I loved the fact that tge PAC 12 turned down expansion is that the big XII is great with having tight quarters and tcu was the only correct fit. Byu is a little out there and so is louisville but there really aren't anymore choices unless they want to grab tulane or smu and Houston to push Oklahoma and Oklahoma state to the north. Geography is not as relevant as you're making it out to be. And apparently neither is your grammar. O great sir I did not know these posts were being graded. I promise my essay on Monday will be much mo betta than me comments on this here message bord o great one!! Haha and on geography, I guess some people on here make that argument, as well as history a big deal when it fits into their posts and some are disconnected enough from the open road because of their fat pockets that buying a plane ticket to 4 or more away games is not a big of a deal (I'm assuming you are well off enough to pull this off). This does not include just football travel though, how about the fans, friends, and family that want to travel with the team every week in whatever sport they choose to follow? Guess you have fat enough pockets for them as well. Guess geography had nothing to do with tcu choosing one seemingly weakening conference for another esp when they could have dominated the big east every year as compared to the big XII. How does me stating that geography isn't much of a priority, with clear common knowledge evidence to back it up, mean I have fat pockets? As a matter of fact I don't. And TCU just NOW chose the Big XII after choosing the Big Easy last year. Only reason they're switching now is because the Big XII has a better longevity outlook (not by much) than the Big East, which may cease to exist very soon. Do some research first before posting next time. O I apologize, didn't know that research was a prerequisite to post hypothetical statements on an open forum. I dream of a place that we can freely post our visions of the future of college football and discuss the present happenings, but I guess you sir have it all figured out so we shall all sit in amazement as you tell us exactly what is going to occur in the future with research that you have conducted because I'm sure that if I do research on your postings I'll find that you, before anyone else, stated exactly what was going to happen in detail concerning the movement in college football...if you don't care for the statements I or anyone else makes then don't respond but if you do maybe cool off on acting as if by research anyone in this forum could have foretold anything that has happened recently. I came here to discuss and learn further on how others felt about not only my views, but that of others and everything going on in the sport that I love. Do I have to be a genius on every team or every issue? If I was I wouldn't be here. So stop dictating as to what or who is acceptable here. If you have the info then provide it, if you or someone already posted the info then share the wealth brother don't try to talk down. We are all here by our own choice and that's because we all share the same love for the sport of college football and what is going on with it so we should all be on the same team. Sorry if there are grammar errors...it's a friggin board who really cares? Well when you make personal statements and assumptions about someone simply because they have a different opinion than yours, you kind of bring it on yourself.
  6. Oh, and BYU is now NOT joining the Big XII. They've had the offer for nearly 2 weeks, but neither side could come to an agreement. Not clear who walked away first, but apparently the LDS was not easy to deal with.

  9. Yes. Mizzou offers both Kansas City and St. Louis markets, better football and basketball programs not to mention baseball as a bonus, and better academics being an AAU school. The overall appeal is much greater than Houston.
  10. If it weren't for the Big East schools getting them first, then I could see Houston. SMU is more of a last resort, 12th member, maybe higher if they're trying to be a 14-16 member conference.
  11. Who said anything about the ACC breaking up? We've been discussing possibility of FSU to the SEC. So one school leaving the only major 14 school conference legitimizes ACC breakup discussions? I don't think he meant the ENTIRE conference, just a generalization.
  12. Who said anything about the ACC breaking up? We've been discussing possibility of FSU to the SEC.
  13. Unnamed "source" with the very vague title of "university official." Nothing to see here, folks. Not really surprised to see this being heralded by The Longhorn Network's corporate partner as some kind of major story. It isn't. If Mike Slive wants Mizzou in, then they're in. That's how I see it. Maybe an official who peronally wants to go to the Big Ten or wants to stay Big XII and is kinda trying to stir crap up and piss off the SEC so they won't take Mizzou. Until an official statement actually comes out of Mizzou confirming this, it really doesn't carry much merit.
  14. That's how I look at it. I almost wish the SEC doesn't accept them now. Heh. Sounds more like they wanted to go to the B1G last year and before the SEC showed interest and maybe one guy trying to stir it back up. I wouldnt read too much into it at this point. I'd say most would love to go SEC.
  15. Mizzou Board of Curators called a meeting for tomorrow to discuss. Seems at the moment they're kin of split. And that sharing only kicks in if all schools committ for 6 years. Doesn't really change much, just more of a last ditch effort to save the conference.
  16. Louisville is close to getting an offer from the Big XII. Nothing from the SEC.
  17. Actually I'm hearing Boise State's not being considered much and BYU is discussing an offer made in the last 9 days.
  18. Beebe stepped aside because Oklahoma said they would only stay if he was gone. There was no falling on his sword or being the stand up, what's best for the conference, guy. They wanted him out, and publicly, and he realized he was done. And no, he was not very good. He was Texas's biotch. That's why this mess started in the first place.
  19. Actually, the new interim Commissioner of the Big XII thinks Mizzou will stay. Wishful denial. They're operating as if they'll stay, though their expansion options are enough that they could fill the spot relatively easily if Mizzou does leave. Seems the vast majority of Mizzou fans want them to go to the SEC.
  20. I just don't know how reliable Twitter is at this point. There have been rumors from all over Twitter that people quote and claim to be credible sources. Until more established websites or organizations produce some sort of story on it or have some sort of confirmation from the higher-ups within the school in question, then it is pretty much hear-say. Some of the guys I follow that report on the Big XII are a lot more reliable than espn. Espn reported that OU's and Mizzou's press conferences last week were both committing to the Big XII. But Mizzou did no such thing. They said they weren't committing to anything and would continue to look at was best for the school. Said the SEC or any other conference was not out of the question. ESPN just took OU's press conference and automatically assumed it applied to everyone without following up or checking on anything else. There were a number of different people on Twitter, who were AT the Mizzou press conference, tweeting what was actually going on. So for now, I'll look to those guys for updates. This is exactly how I feel on the whole thing. The person that I've been talking with that's close to the Big XII situation has been a lot more accurate than anything ESPN's reported on. ESPN has been too busy making assumptions or wishful thinking in their reporting. Oh I know and I understand what the Big XII is doing. I was just being facetious. Who have you been talking to on Twitter regarding the Big XII?
  21. So since Big XII saved themselves from doomsday, they're looking to decimate another conference. That's pretty thoughtful. What conference? The Big East is about decimated anyway. The Big XII is giving them a chance to save themselves before they wind up in Conference USA or worse.

  23. From what I'm reading on Twitter, looks like BYU, Cincy, Louisville, Weat Virginia and TCU may have offers to join the Big XII. Though it also says that while some of the conference schools want TCU, the Texas schools, led by UT, don't. BYU and Louisville appear to be the most discussed schools. There's a chance they could add to get 12, or just 10 for now an add more later. Mizzou to the SEC appears to still be very much in play as well.
  24. Not true on either point in certain cases. While football controls the discussion in college athletics, men's basketball and academics both are a decent part of it for certain conferences (ACC for both, Big Ten for academics only, etc). Academics, pfft. You know, as much crap as SEC fans rightfully get for that S-E-C-S-E-C "I hope our rivals win because somehow it makes us better" chanting, the Big Ten is the most masturbatory conference in college sports. At least all that South-will-rise-again stuff terminates at the end of football season; Big Ten circle-jerking permeates every aspect of everything. F*** football, when's the next womens game in that sport? Arizona gymnastics meets begin on January 6th...... Will Monica Bisordi be making an appearance? Yeah, she'll be coming. Can she still throw 100 MPH (but only for three or so pitches?) What? He's talking about the other Bisordi on the boards. Oh. Right. *queue Boy George's "The Crying Game"*
