Lol I was exaggerating for effect. Who would want another red and black team? That's why I continued on by suggesting brown or blues or yellows, whatever. My point stands. Come up with colour scheme that suits your team identity, not this 'pick-a-colour-that-isn't-used' mentality.

Purple and light blue fit a potential Yetis name (and most names on the list), as well as the region and market itself, so your preemptive sarcastic comments were completely misguided. Our color suggestions were based on market history coupled with some of the leading name choices, not just randomly picking colors.

They like having their stuff made by a local company. Honestly, I love that. The Packers are integral in Wisconsin culture down to who makes their uniforms. I hate them, but I also love them.

I hope they go red and black.

I really don't like this whole "the league needs a purple team, so they should be purple" thing. It's like a playschool activity where a bunch of children are figuring out what colour crayons they have so they can draw a rainbow.

I'd actually love to see brown, or tan or something. But yeah, I don't need to see a colour just because its not been used by any other team and they can "own it".  I'd be more than okay if they came up with a cool way to use a shade of blue or yellow or something.

So something overplayed (red and black) as opposed to a color not currently in use that actually has relevancy to the geographic region and sports history of said region?

  4. I don't mind the addition of copper. Here's what I was thinking for a colorway, with a few different purple options and using the copper from the 1990s Jazz. The 90s Jazz used "purple, light blue and copper", with additional colors, but different shades. This is more "winter tones" than "90s tones" the Jazz previously used.

Nah - it's a skiing thing. Playing card diamonds are red.

I understand I'm being totally pedantic with the response, but I think it would be a reach to go from Black Diamonds to Vegas/gambling.

To be fair, I was a Sparta Trojan.😐

285 C is a fairly common shade. I mean - the Packers, Steelers, Chargers, Chiefs, Commanders, and Cardinals all use 1235 C. Can't easily trademark particular colors (at least, not without a whole lot of legal hurdles).

Also the St. Louis Blues use 285C for their "Winter Classic" uniforms, not to mention the primary blue for the Oklahoma City Thunder. Commonly used across multiple sports.

I mean when gambling was illegal, people would be less likely to know about gambling and how to access it.

Do you also think narcotics should be made legal, so many people would be  more likely to know about helplines or treatment options that are available to them.

Hey, I personally just wanted to give you a heads up that the entire internet system is going to be down for it's annual yearlong maintenance starting at 7am CDT. We'll notify you when it's back up and running so we can all resume reading your insightful thoughts. Can't wait. Thanks!

As a non-watcher of this league, but still reads through this thread because I'm morbidly intrigued by the stories of the spring football boom and bust cycle (Will this be the one to finally work? Who knows?), it does seem like a mistake in going to existing NFL markets.

I understand it's a bit of a catch-22 of sorts of wanting to be in major markets in order to be considered "major league" and getting major league tv deals, but it doesn't seem like a great plan to be a lesser, professional and unrelated, football team in current NFL markets.

I'm for a mix. Mostly non-NFL markets plus some NFL ones that are successful, like DC. I would like to see them get back into New York City, namely once NYCFC's new stadium is completed.

Moving teams would be the death knell for the league.

Holding a gun to fans heads and tell them in year one, "If you don't show up, we'll yank your team" is no way to win support.  Why bother if the team's not going to be here next year?  Why would ANY fan support a team in that league if that's the threat?

They didn't have an offseason to market the league because of the merger.  Michigan didn't start selling tickets until 2 weeks before kickoff.  Houston's in a new venue since TDECU is being renovated right now.

TV numbers are good, better than either league at this time last season.  It's not time to hit the panic button.

This isn't year 1. Michigan has been around for 3 years and this is their 2nd playing IN Detroit. This is Houston's 3rd year playing in Houston when counting the 2020 XFL season. These are NFL markets. If they're not showing interest now, they're probably not going to. Seattle and DC showed continued interest. Seattle's only problem was geography. It's not "hitting the panic button". It's fixing the market situation while you still can. Move them to markets that may actually be wanting a team, like in Ohio (Columbus or Canton) or Orlando, etc. Wait too long, and THAT could be the death knell for the league.

  10. Quick rough job here (there's no way to type that without hearing "Phrasing! Boom!" in your head). Wouldn't it have made more sense to have the sleeves like this and consistent through each uniform? Snow-capped mountain against a "sunset", so-to-speak?

It IS possible to be critical of the league and NOT be hoping for its demise. Those are not exclusive positions.

No one ever said it was. We were being critical of his saying that the Battlehawks dropoff was concerning, ignoring the context and the fact that they still drew more than twice the next highest attendance.

How does your douchebag reply to my comment prove they aren't?

This board is super enjoyable...except when the few contrarian pricks aren't chiming in to :censored: on other people's opinions.

If you don't agree with someone's opinion or statement, you can use the react buttons or you can offer an opposing opinion in a respectful way.  You don't have to be an :censored:, though I know it makes you feel better (in a really pathetic, lonely way).

It's not an opinion when you specifically said that Bills fans were lobbying for them. That's a statement of observation you made, which implies factually information that you are now calling an opinion when called out on it. Maybe instead of falsely calling people "douchebags", you might want to A. Check your ego as you clearly were applying your personal opinion to those of another team's fanbase to make it seem like they agreed with you, and B. Learn what the word "opinion" means.

    Lot of assumptions here.

Lots of Bills fans lobbying for a return the Jim Kelly-era uniforms.

Washington hasn’t confirmed any of those details, though I would welcome both.

Phil’s recent Nike pieces mentioned that Laurie considered changing uniforms, shooting a hole in that longstanding rumor that Lurie would never change.

How does the Chiefs winning Super Bowls validate your statement about Bills fans clamoring for the return of the Jim Kelly era uniforms?🤨

Not expecting them to set records each week, but also not expecting them to lose a fifth of their crowd, either.

Look, I'm hoping the league makes it. I was a fan of the previous XFLs and the USFLs (especially the 1980s version), and the AAF and whatever else you want. But I can't ignore a dropoff like that.

    Let's hope for the best.

No it's because you're ignoring the context. There was nothing wrong with the attendance. You don't need to "ignore" the dropoff, just realize it's not what you're making it out to be.

I didn't say that at all. I was just asking for reactions. "Defensive" is a reaction! 😂

BTW, that's a 22% drop week over week. Just noting.

I've been on TwiX explaining this all day to people who want to use it as the sign of the apocalypse. It would be pretty obvious if anybody did basic searching. And "22% drop" is wildly taking it out of context and grossly overplaying it for dramatic effect. It's still an insane figure for modern spring football, especially this season.

Anyone want to comment on the drop of 9,000 in St. Louis?

Good lord, why are so many people acting like this is the end of the world?🤦‍♂️

It was an 11;30am start couple with the Cardinals playing at 1:15 and honestly the dropoff only looks as big as it does because they drew over 40k last time. They still more than doubled the next highest attendance figure (DC - 15,052) and have continued to add to their list of highest attendance figures in modern spring football.

I ended up moving the Saints as I figured New Orleans wasn't going to be able to support pro sports anymore due to climate change taking a toll on the city's population. Just one more Katrina-type event and that city's gone (okay I'm exaggerating a bit but case in point) As for Omaha of all cities, I entertained several other major cities, I ruled out Texas and Oklahoma as I thought Jerry's son would oppose a team in those areas much like his father, I also considered Louisville, but I thought it be a better fit for an NBA Franchise than a NFL side. I ultimately decided on Omaha as it was a fast-growing metro area with a strong football heritage.

Other moves I wanted to address were putting the Dolphins in the AFC South, with the Jags gone and putting a team in Toronto, I figured it is more geographically fitting to put Miami in the South, while the Toronto team gets put in the East. I thought about putting Toronto in the north, but its mean breaking up the Ravens-Steelers Rivalry or the Browns Bengals Rivalry, which I wanted to keep intact. As well as the Bucs moving across I-4 to Orlando (More Tourism $$)
