I'm still in the smokescreen camp, 2-2-22, we are going to have the Washington Groundhogs.

Not to mention the lack of conference logos. I've had it in the back of my mind, the owners want to do some crossover crap in the playoffs.

I think you nailed it as usual. I guess the only question we really have is will the end zone be black or orange. Based on what seems to be a lack of caring over the last 10 years, black is a much more "color of less effort." Along with the lack of wordmark outlines.

Here's the final four teams, with the endzone designs that I'd predict each team would have.
The Chiefs and 49ers I would think would have the same designs as they had two years ago.
I highly doubt the NFL would paint stripes in the Bengals endzone, even though that would be amazing. They'd go with black, as in their previous two Super Bowls.
The Rams I would hope would go with their better logo and yellow wordmark.
49ers-Bengals
Every one of these fields will have a good deal of color, which is nice of course. And, we have the possibility of the host team playing in their home stadium for the second year in a row.
You know....could avoid the BBengals if they did helmets. I was surprised they did it for the Rams, and the 49ers. We always seem to get an unexpected surprise.

If the Rams make it, this will be their 5th different wordmark to be used in a Super Bowl.

There's something comforting about classic teams and uniforms being covered in mud.

Anything played under the California sun.

I also think a black Steelers endzone with white lettering would look good. Or even yellow. But it's never been done.

I spent the whole time trying to figure out which college game was played there the day before and thinking how bad the paint bled through.

Calling it "Football Team" is just a reminder of what the old name is.

Some observations from tonights game, and slight adjustments I will need to make:
Super Bowl logo did not have any gradient painted into it this year. Some years they have (last couple years), other years they havent (XLV, XLIX). Also, Super Bowl logo hieght looked to be 20 feet tall, and width I can size proportionally to that.
Also, there was some darker green paint between the sideline hashes, and the sideline (for visibility on replays for catches on the sidline)
Use to be quite common before HDTV. It was very noticeable on the old Astroturf.

The easiest way to tell if the image was form this year, or last, is if you see any black at the back of the endzone. In Miami, black artificial turf immediately starts at the back of the endzones. Tampa has all grass.
Certainly a better look than the previous warning track/dirt/turf thing that was 3 feet into the white border. That always drove me nuts. Looked terrible.

My local news had a story on Mr. Toma. He mentioned the Chiefs end zone being yellow and already having the templates, however the shot of the end zone was tight, so I don't know if the footage was from last years field. And I can't find the story on their website.
EDIT: Found it from another channel.....definitely a clip from Hard Rock last year....

I would buy every one of those prints. Amazing as always sir!

Chances of retro Super Bowl I retro field.....zero....but one can hope I guess.
I was hoping the Buccaneers would get a pewter end zone with red lettering in Super Bowl XXXVII. A gold Packers end zone with green lettering would work too I think, however not sure what to with the outline around the "G."

Should the Rams make the Super Bowl, this will be their 5th different wordmark!

Also, I noticed all the field images in this thread now no longer work. I think the boards no longer support images with an HTTP link, only HTTPS. So that's unfortunate, since all the images I posted are hosted on the Gridiron Fields Database, and we don't haven't had the money to pay for an SSL certificate for HTTPS. I'm not sure what I'll do about fixing all the broken links in here, but that's going to be a time consuming task.
Maybe just a link in the original post to the database?
The shame is losing the "Alternate Super Bowls."

Today's field was quite interesting. Made it work for not expecting a game to be played the day after the Fiesta Bowl.

If they moved the diamond a few feet to the right, the base line and the goal line would have lined right up!
I'm still trying to find a video of the giant grandstands moving on the water troughs.
