Anyway, there shouldn't be any concerns about funding because that UofP student crunched the numbers.

It's been a while, but I paid $5 to see the Reds at Great American. When I moved to Seattle in 2006, my first M's game was $7. Now I think bleacher seats are around $10-11.

I think the biggest issue with Buffalo in the MLB is that MLB would never ever go to Buffalo. Ever.

What happened to the Arizona Coyotes?
-
Yes, but this entire, prolonged exercise has been about Glendale taking all of the risk while receiving none of the benefit. Why change that now?
Touche. What a bunch of dummies.
-
My point is that if Glendale's taking all the risk, Glendale should get the benefit. It's not like folks it Tuscon and other Arizona places all of a sudden like hockey now. Glendale's risking an awful lot for this hockey franchise in a way that Rosemont or Fremont probably (hopefully) wouldn't.
To me, this is very much not about marketing -- the team's been there for a generation and people know it exists or they don't. It's recouping whatever value you can for a hefty investment.
-
So why aren't they called the Glendale Coyotes? That's the part I don't get.

Seattle in meme :'(
: Whoops. Just saw that bors1 made the same joke way before me. Gifs weren't loading in phone earlier.
-
FWIW if for some reason the federal government has to intervene in Glendale then it most decisively becomes our problem.
That's the logical end to all of this. There's no way this deal works out financially for the city, no matter the University of Phoenix's "punching in the numbers" shows.

Yikes. I'm bummed we're not getting hockey here, but at least we have a functioning police force.
Good night and good luck, Glendale.
-
The Glendale council is the suckiest bunch of sucks that ever sucked.
-
They could at least name the team the Glendale Coyotes.
What a horrorshow. The National Guard should dissolve the council to protect Glendale's citizenry.
-
He's comparing the spirit of firefighters to people running a goddamn hockey team.
They're all awful, terrible, horrible people.

These dumb :censored:s are going to keep the team in Glendale.
-
Many businesses -- but we can't tell you who! -- say they're going to punch me in the balls if I don't vote for hockey.
Eff you.
-
Spending millions to pay for hockey in the hope you'll generate funds to pay for police officers is dumb. These people are dumb.
-
So the arena manager is "obligated for due diligence and commercially reasonable et cetera."
"Our fire chief had to close multiple fire houses this year and our police department can't hire new officers."
"Well we tried to book Nickelodeon on Ice! We tried really hard!"

I wish they had been in HD during public comment.

I love that she's conflated subsidizing hockey AND "the dream of home ownership." Burn Glendale to the ground.

B. Wyatt -- more like B. Quiet, right?
EDIT: This is so much fun. What a great way to spend a Tuesday.
Twitter is doing its job:
The well endowed girl makes great points on economic development. She could be my anchor tenant #Coyotes #NHLSeattle

They GUARANTEE 41 nights of hockey per season! 41!

Young Boob Woman did a nice research job for her op-ed writing 101 class.
"Paying for parking is a nationally accepted practice." YOU DON'T SAY.

If a student business analyst at the University of Phoenix thinks Glendale's better off with the Coyotes, well then, that's good enough for me!

Sounds like MLB should buy out Loria, dump the Marlins, and move the Rays organization to Miami. We all win that way, yeah?
