Thank you, I'm glad you liked Alaska! I'll see what I can do for Illinois, and would you happen to have any suggestions for that state?

Regarding Illinois, nah, I'll leave it to you!

I'm torn on the AZ plates.  I like the new design, but it definitely feels spartan.

The AZ Highways magazine plate is one of my favorites, and it really adds something to the experience of being out in the valley.

I quickly photoshopped a different blend of colors that I feel like works a bit better, IMHO.

Going to assume the Bears will be focusing on helping Fields with weapons and with cap relief.

Then again I don't know what the Bears are doing.

    1.  The Bears weren't going to contend in 2022.  Mack doesn't give them anything of use.

    2.  Poles inherited Pace's roster and a fairly sparse cupboard of draft capital.

    3.  Mack's on the wrong side of 30, is coming off of foot surgery, and hasn't been himself since the 2018 season.

    4.  This will open up a ton of cap.  The Chargers are taking on the entirety of Mack's contract.  That extra $28M in 2023 will be of great benefit.

I don't think it's a sexy move, but it's practical, and one I would expect of a new GM inheriting a bad situation.

  3. 1.  I personally don't care how GMs circumnavigate contracts, cheat deadlines, and otherwise deftly navigate red tape.  I don't consider any of that cheating.  If the Packers bend the rules to the extent that it gets Rodgers and Adams to re-up, so be it.  If the Bears were a better team, they could pull this crap off, too.

    2.  Aaron Rodgers is a playoffs loser, so if they want to pay him that much to lose in the playoffs, that's fine by me.   He's a Hall of Famer, one of the best to ever play, yata-yata, blah blah blah.

    3.  The Bears aren't going to be good regardless, so what's another 4 years of being owned?

The N in "STANLEY" is the first thing my eye is drawn to, and it's jarring because it looks SO out of place.

It's fine.  They're going for the whole "we're grown ups and sports are serious" crap that has been too heavy for too long across the big four.  Whatever.

Jersey: Black with dark gray side panels. Pants: Dark gray with black side panels. What are we even doing here?

Side panels with dark side panels, dark gray panels with side panels, panels with paneling, black and gray, panel sides, lines, panels, dark bley grack

    That'll be $20,000

I know people love to complain about literally everything in this sub......but what's wrong with that logo? Its fine. Who cares?

It's a logos and sports design forum.  The whole backbone of the animal is criticism.

That TNF Amazon logo is objectively half-assed.

OMG there's more reactions!  Quick observation, there's now applause, "meh", and "huh?".   I was only asking for like 3 or 4, but now there's one for practically any reaction that humans are capable of.

Can we get middle fingers?  Or an emoji doing the "jerkoff" gesture?  And maybe a pucker face, like in case you want to literally kiss a post?

Lol what does that even mean?

What’s entailed in “owning that it’s a minority opinion?” Should I have included a disclaimer?

Sorry guys I take it back. The Lions alt is bad because.

Back to the serious business that is grown men discussing sports uniforms. Only thick skin here!

Lovie Smith? Is this Texans saying that they can’t fire a black guy without replacing him with one? I get that there’s no way they could sell McCowm, a white guy with no experience, over experienced minority candidates, but when those candidates have mediocre resumes?  Certainly there’s better non-white candidates than Lovie.

A local Houston media guy says it was likely a business move in that it would have been really hard to sell team sponsors on Josh McCown.  If they had hired McCown, NRG Stadium would be a ghost town on Game Day.

Lovie Smith was a good coach for the Bears for the bulk of his tenure.  His faults were in wanting more personnel control which led to crappier defenses, and the offense was being constantly f'd with due to a woeful combination of underperforming quarterbacks and bad offensive coordinators.

The locker room under him was pretty much pristine.  Players love him, almost to a fault.  I can't speak for how things went for him in Tampa, but the University of Illinois tenure was weird under Lovie, which surprised me.  I thought he'd do well in Champaign, but the recruiting never developed and I don't think he ever commanded guys that young the same way he did in the NFL.  It'd be cool to have him join the NFL again for one more go as Head Coach.

The Kraken have a great identify.  Too bad they aren't successful like Vegas and we really wont be seeing them in prime time games very often for a while.

Gotta hope they don't sully the waters with some gimmicky alternate sweater.  They've still yet to release their mascot (which I'm hoping is an old-timey scuba diver).

That said, the crowning achievement of the franchise so far has been their branding/uniforms.  I have some faith they'll keep nailing that part while the actual hockey aspect grows.

Solid white helmet. White jersey with the classic stripes and solid navy block numbers. Canvas colored pants. Blue socks with orange stripes.

That against the Lions classic throwbacks would be a visual feast.

I'll pass on any Bears white helmet.  I'll play ball on the canvas pants, maybe.

Can we get more reactions besides just the "thumbs up"?

Like "surprise", "heart", "angry face", and the ever controversial "thumbs down"?

I know that there's been arguments made that the "thumbs down" might hurt people's feelings, but I think that having more reactions would actually have the opposite effect, in that if someone disagrees with a post, they'd simply do a 'thumbs down' rather than reply (unless they have a legitimate point of contention that's worth diving deeper into.)

The other ones might also cut down on fluff posts, and... they're just fun.  Hell - even the angry face is used mostly in jest than otherwise.

I remember back when the thumbs-up was added, I thought it was silly and would never use it, but now that I'm conditioned to reactions on MS Teams and social media, I think there's place for more of them here.

Thanks for your time and consideration.  Looking forward to the day someone can "love" this post rather than just "like" it.

    https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/33198434/washington-commanders-nfl-franchise-search-new-nickname-logo

Once the team settled on a name, Nike's Best in Class design team worked on the uniform. The team received three uniform designs and plans to add a fourth in 2024, with fan involvement, Wright said.

"One thing Nike does is they focus on the young consumer," said Marc Reeves, a former head of brand at Nike who is now with Relo Metrics. "All the research I've ever seen [on] the younger generation says it's more than just a sport. ... People take this seriously. It's incredibly important to a community. As polarizing as Washington is, sports is one of the rare things that unifies. It's critically important to get this right."

Coach Ron Rivera was among those weighing in on the logos and uniforms. Washington co-CEO Tanya Snyder was more involved in the uniform process, owing to her days in fashion as a former model and clothing representative, among other roles. It took two months to come up with uniforms they liked. To prevent leaks of designs, they worked with a small number of vendors on merchandise. They wanted merchandise immediately ready so they could parade alumni through town handing out gear and have it for sale.

So we should be blaming Nike, Ron Rivera, and Tanya Snyder for all collectively having awful taste and making bad decisions.
