One should not forget the "deathly fear" of milk that Levis seems to possess.

Seriously, though, as unfair and as unfortunate as it might be for Levis, the cluster of quirky behaviors and attitudes that he has been revealed to have are putting him at risk of being labeled a "crazy person" (to put it kindly) among decision makers throughout the NFL ... to the point that he might be taken with a shockingly late pick in the draft ... or even not be drafted by any NFL team at all.

Levis goes in the first ten picks of the second round.  The only situation in which a prospective major talent, much less a QB, doesn't get drafted at all is if there is some incredibly bad medical that's unknown to the public or he's facing a criminal trial that doesn't favor him being free for much longer.

...and even then, some team will make the pick.

I'd think it's also important in establishing a league's identity to showcase its best teams in games when it matters.

This right here.  Rivalries can happen later with more teams and higher stakes.  Right now it's all about the best teams getting in, and St. Louis has been showing up and showing out for their team since day 1, McCarron is likely the league's best QB when healthy, and is a great story for the XFL to promote, but nah, he's gonna watch from home because the XFL had to overthink this crap.

  3. Finally.  Lousy son of a :censored: is out of the division and the conference and I have a couple games each year where I don't have to watch my team get punched in the sack.

They'll get a HoFer at QB before long, whether it's Love or whoever, they'll not suffer for more than a year, if that.

A game with absolutely nothing on the line is no basis for assumptions about the likely result of a playoff game.

Let's take a look at the Renegades season:

    • barely beat the lousy Vipers at home (1-0)
    • trounced by Houston (1-1)
    • survived the mighty ass-tier Guardians at home by one point (2-1)
    • blown out by St. Louis (2-2)
    • survived a struggling San Antonio by a meager two points in a game fraught with bad play (3-2)
    • got field goaled to death in an unimpressive rematch with SA the following week (3-3)
    • smoked by Seattle (3-4)
    • hung on to beat the then 1-6 Guardians by two (4-4)
    • DC blew out Arlington for 3 quarters before pissing away the game, unfortunate luck in overtime, easily Arlington's best game, but a loss (4-5)
    • Arlington limps to the finish with another loss against one of the worst QB'd teams in the league (4-6)

Arlington is mediocre garbage, and should absolutely not be in the playoffs.  St. Louis is one of the banner teams of the league and outplayed Arlington's sorry asses the entire season, yet the Renegades are going to waste everyone's time next weekend with their gruel-esque football.  If they win the XFL title, I will buy Arlington championship merch and wear it to work out of shame.

    • Sea Dragons vs. Vipers:  Seattle is arguably the funnest team in the league to watch.  DiNucci is all over the place and hopefully he balls out against the Defenders in the playoffs.  Glad they got in.  Will ideally make for a wild, hopefully ratings-heavy playoff game.
    • Defenders vs. Brahmas:  Gutsy finale for the Brahmas with a fairly hot crowd cheering them on.  Romo's miss at the end shouldn't tarnish what an excellent year he had and hopefully next season San Antonio builds on a solid showing.
    • Guardians vs. Battlehawks:  Orlando's finally found some cohesion late in the year and it makes for a rowdy first half, but McCarron was on another planet.  It's a shame St. Louis isn't in the playoffs, but the cookie crumbled thus.  Their fans reign supreme and despite a stupid-good offensive showing, they didn't meet the tiebreaker criteria.
    • Roughnecks vs. Renegades:  Houston is a dull, if not unspectacular squad with some ass-tier QB play but a stellar defense.  The Renegades are, IMO, the most boring team in the XFL.  They're basically the league's home team but they're so bland across the board.  Roughnecks move along as they do, but it's so lame that we'll see a complete rerun of this game next week with likely the same result.

Sea Dragons vs. Defenders is basically the XFL 2023 Championship Game, and I'm hoping the Sea Dragons pull it off.  Defenders are a damned fine team, but no team was more exciting to watch than the SSDs.

That said, what'll probably happen is it'll be DC vs. Houston for the title, it'll be Defenders by a landslide, and the ratings will be weak.

Someone mentioned that they are the modern take on the old Phoneix Cardinals uniforms?

Personally I would like a modern take on the Pat Tillmans.

The modern take would be that he was killed via friendly fire and his unfortunate death was covered up and rebranded to sell the NFL as the most American-y thing to ever American.

    So many questions.

Is Arizona leaving any clues in their teases?

Will anything leak before the unveiling?

Are they really going with orange and silver or is that red herring?

Who is TruColor’s source? And did he lie him?

Or is TruColor lying to us?

And where the hell am I?

    • no, because that would take time and effort, and the Bidwells don't want to compensate anyone for such things
    • oh, probably, but at this point we're hours away so who cares?
    • inclusive yes
    • some reddit guy, and probably
    • no

I’m also in Tucson right now…just finished a hike at Saguaro National Forest…saw a road runner, a rattlesnake, and a bunch of larger-than-usual lizards, but no hints on Cardinals uniforms.

I feel so dumb.  Only realized yesterday that saguaro is pronounced “sah-wahr-oh.”
