Combine XFL & USFL in 2024, then expand in 2025 with the new league acquiring the IP to the AAF. Add the following teams/markets to get to 20 teams for the '25 season:Atlanta Legends
Salt Lake Stallions*San Antonio Commanders
San Diego Fleet*I wanted to add Salt Lake, but we already have Stallions in Birmingham and we need a new team in the North division; adding Salt Lake would also crowd the West division. I'd opt for a new franchise in Boston, Buffalo, Chicago, or New York.
Per my prior post, new divisions could look like this:NORTH DIVISION
Michigan Panthers (USFL)
New Jersey Generals (USFL)
Pittsburgh Maulers (USFL)
Philadelphia Stars (USFL)
*New Boston/Buffalo/Chicago/New York franchise using Blitz, Breakers, Enforcers, Hitmen, or Guardians identities, or a remaining AAF brand (Hotshots or Iron, rather than Apollos or Express)
EAST DIVISION
Atlanta Legends (AAF)
DC Defenders (XFL)
Orlando Thunderbolts (XFL)
St. Louis Battlehawks (XFL)
Tampa Bay Bandits (USFL)
SOUTH DIVISION
Birmingham Stallions (USFL)
Dallas Renegades (XFL)
Houston Gamblers (USFL)
Memphis Showboats (USFL)
San Antonio Commanders (AAF)
WEST DIVISION
Las Vegas Brahmas (XFL)
Oakland Outlaws (XFL)
San Diego Fleet (AAF)
San Francisco Demons (XFL)
Seattle Sea Dragons (XFL)
The talent pool would be so spread out. It could be comically bad football, but clearly the nation doesn't care about quality so much as quantity.

I don't think you should have an overly long XFL season/playoff. It's gotta be a really big pain to market since so many of the talents year-to-year are either going to the NFL as backups/filler/practice squadders. The key is to really engage the fan bases that care (as in, get St. Louis into the goddamn playoffs) and show crowds that are supportive. Nobody feels the call to join a fandom when there's nobody there to give a rat's ass.

The BASS guys and myself all 100% endorse there being some AAF inclusion.

To be honest though I would not want to go through an NHL player's phone because there's a 72% chance you're going to find him sucking off another guy and explaining it away with "yeah that was me doing an impression of him and how gay he is"

Also, the 6XLT undershirt under the skin-tight jersey fad cannot die fast enough. There was a player on Buffalo Monday night who had his jersey rolled up halfway so everyone could see as much as possible of the bright red t-shirt covering his belly. Congratulations, pal, you made me notice you looking like crap as your team lost to the Jets with a non-quarterback.
We're getting ever closer to the kilt/skirt being in.

How many teams would sign up for "He'll get you at least 8 wins for the next dozen years but will never take you to a Super Bowl." -- Probably the Cowboys and nobody else.
The Bears would take this in a heartbeat. I'd rather see an always-the-bridesmaid team like the Cowboys than any more flat garbage last place Bears football. -

My thoughts were that it might be the rain?
I texted the BASS guys last night that they looked like matte Carolina blue. The fabric clearly, when sopping wet, deepens the color. They looked ridiculous.- 3

I still wouldn't be a fan, but it'd be at least somewhat passable if the pants had some blue striping or something. I don't know who on the design team thought blank white pants would be a good look.
Blank white everything is huge now for some reason. I have no idea why.

Gimme some blue socks and I'm actually pretty OK with Lions going white on white.

Good. That was depressing. I think a new city would be better, Preferably San Diego or somewhere east so you can put Seattle and the Texas together to go back to an East-West divisional alignment. I don't even think Sam Boyd Stadium would draw well. They're now an NFL city and probably aren't interested in continuing to be a Spring League market right now.
Oakland have anything they could use? Maybe Indianapolis or see if Philadelphia would be on board, since the USFL team doesn't actually play there.

The White Sox/Gun/Fat Folds story is like some sort of Aesop fable that made a jump through time.

Looks like the Reds have run out of steam. Young team, injuries piling up, and this is the most baseball a lot of them have played. Fun season, better than expected, but I'll be surprised if they pull out of this tail spin. I already hit on my over bet at 65.5 wins so that's cool. Next year should be even more fun.
Here's hoping. The Reds are overdue for some success.

What REALLY chaps my ass about Nike lately is how freaking small some of these uniform numbers are on the front of the jersey. They look freaking ridiculous. These are high-school sizes 8-9" numbers instead of 10" or more. And I guarantee it's because of that God-awful jersey template.
BJ Ojulari is only 6'2, 248lbs and that tiny number makes him look like he's 6'8, 285lbs.
It's really noticeable on the big guys but even stands out on some of the smaller skill players. These guys look like somebody here opened a blank template in photoshop, realized within 10 minutes they had no idea what they were doing, and called the concept finished.
