The Phoenix Coyotes' original logo was terrible--a boxy dog wearing a "Phantom of the Opera" mask.

The Boston Bruins used to clog the rafters of the old Boston Garden with Adams Division and Wales Conference Championship banners (they were envious of all the banners the Celtics had). Now, only the Stanley Cups get their own banner and everything else is consolidated.

In 2011, they re-did the Stanley Cup banners with period correct logos.

I could be totally wrong, but I don't remember a team doing anything similar to this.

A number of people have mentioned IP in their argument, but aren't counterfit jerseys more about trademark protection than intellectual property? Nike paid for the manufacturing rights to NFL merchandise, most of which were not designed by anyone at Nike.

Actually, they don't NEED to do that at all. If you like the alternate jersey universe, that is okay, but let's not pretend they are an essential aesthetic aspect of the game. For my entire childhood, NFL teams had one jersey for home and one for the road and the league was still able to have successful seasons.

Not only is that ring hideous, but it is unwieldly. I spoke to a Braves scout who said his friends in the Marlins scouting department do not wear their rings beasue they are so enourmous and heavy.

Besides being aesthetically unpleasing, it seems odd that you would not group banners based on their subject matter.

I oppose adding a 12th school on the grounds it would ruin the NCAA's best conference logos.

Why does Charles Barkley's retired number banner have the "new" logo on it? It looks ridiculously out of place.
