Wolves is up 3 votes on Warbirds.  If the next time I check back it is up 1 more, then it is the winner.  Can Warbirds creep closer or will the Wolves snatch up this one?

I think the vote for Washington will be very close.

Maybe the Chiefs (RoAd WaRrIoRs) will opt for their whites -- then by all means give us this!

Since it's Niners vs. Swifties this year, I have a feeling it'll be a repeat of LIV in terms of uniforms.

However, I would like to see the helmets in the end zones like they used to have until XXX.

Why would Disney have put the Ducks a whole 95 miles from their California park, especially considering they were literally branding the team after one of their movies in the first place? It makes more sense to put them close to Disneyland so that you can easily cross-promote the team and the park.

    1) The Ducks could've had San Diego all to themselves instead of sharing the greater LA market with the Kings.

    2) If Disney chose San Diego instead of Anaheim, they wouldn't have had to give a penny to that con man Bruce McNall.

    3) Here in San Diego, we could've had a newer arena to replace the old SD Sports Arena by '95 or so on the same parking lot. I mean, a new arena built by Disney...privately financed...that would've made us San Diegans happy.

    4) I feel like San Diego, even back in the early 90's, would be a big enough city to support an NHL team. And given our history of supporting minor league teams at every opportunity, I really wished our elected officials at the time could've convinced Eisner to bring the Ducks here. Even if that meant playing temporarily at the old Sports Arena while the Pond was being built.

Anaheim is good enough for the Ducks, it's good enough for the Angels.  Whoever decided they are part of the LA metro area is probably the only one who thinks of Anaheim as part of LA.

I honestly wish Disney had based the Mighty Ducks in San Diego instead of Anaheim.

That way, the expansion fee would've been cheaper without having to compensate the Kings.

You couldn't. The Dutch flag is red, white and blue, the flag you've described is the Prince's Flag, which formed the basis for the Apartheid era South African flag and is strongly associated with, and used by the Far Right in the Netherlands.

I admit I wasn't aware of that till you mentioned it.

Maybe plain orange socks to go with the navy pants?

It seems like a combination of a few things. They lost around 2000 season ticket holders during the pandemic, which was due to people cutting spending, changing entertainment habits, and issues around vaccine mandates. They started their first season ticket campaign since initially moving from Atlanta this spring, but I don't think the veiled threat of "buy tickets or the team might move again" went over very well.

The honeymoon period of the NHL being back in Manitoba is over, but their owner is still one of the richest people in Canada, and is committed to keeping the team there. I think we're still a long ways away from relocation being a realistic option.

I asked because last season I was worried we would see a repeat of 96 and the economic conditions that sent the old Jets to the desert.

Sorry for the break, I was in Mexico for work and wanted to fill up my back log before I started posting again.

    Amsterdam Admirals
I wanted to keep these guys because the Netherlands and England do have a lot of direct flights, and this would expand the league's footprint to a major market on mainland Europe.

One of the two legacy teams in this project. I always felt like they had a really strong brand, but looking again, there wasn't too much I wanted to keep from their original set. What I did keep was the anchor from the crest, and the three X's from the Amsterdam flag. I felt like those were two strong things to build around, plus adding an A since the name is an illiteration.

The uniforms are simpler than they ever had been. I knew I wanted to make a stripe design with the three X's that would fit cleanly and be representative of the city. It was just a matter of mixing in orange, navy, and white in the same pattern.

Nice to see the Admirals here as they were my favorite NFLE team back in the day.

One critique I can offer is that the white jerseys would look better with Navy pants.

I would also suggest that you could get away with having the white socks have an orange/white/navy stripe pattern to mimic the Dutch flag. Or orange socks to pair with the navy pants.

  8. What's up with the Winnipeg Jets' attendance issues lately?

The way everybody's talking about it, it makes the Jets seem like they're vulnerable to being moved again.

I really don't want Winnipeg to lose the Jets again like they did in 1996.

    3) The question with San Diego is where would they go?  The stadium issue is real, but the Raiders never left LA, so they sort of have a claim on the city.  But, that means...?

I think enough time has passed in this universe where you could get away with Jack Murphy Stadium being renovated if that helps bring the USFL to San Diego. I ask because I'm not sure if the Chargers stayed put in this universe or if they're still trying to replace the Murph.

Coming soon... new adidas looks for...

    Baltimore

    Birmingham

    Nashville

    Philadelphia

We have 2 clubs that exist in the 2022 version of the USFL, will they start to move in that direction, hold their traditional look, or go a third route.  We also have an old school team that has already deviated from its original look & city, and a team that has come a long way from its original WLAF design to a new NFL-inspired look.  How will it evolve?

All this, plus, on the alt history site, some news about possible movement towards a Dallas franchise.  What identity will they take?

    All starting this weekend.

Dallas-Ft. Worth in the USFL is gonna be tricky. Will they play in Jerry World, Cotton Bowl, Amon G. Carter or Gerald Ford? Or maybe the Rangers' ballpark in Arlington? Or could they save Texas Stadium from the wrecking ball?

Is Omaha gonna get a team at some point? I would like to see the UFL Nighthawks logo see some action because that was my favorite from that league. Also, Omaha is home to 311, one of my favorite bands.

Later on, if the Chargers still leave San Diego, I would like to see the USFL move in. Maybe with the AAF Fleet logo and have the Admirals or Destroyers as their nickname?

30th Season is 2012, so that is when you should expect to see some celebrating.

Cool. But it would be nice if the Trefoil had some on-field presence to celebrate. Even if it's limited to just throwback items like retro sideline gear.

  12. Is the entire league going to be outfitted by Adidas?

Because I feel like the Trefoil would be a better logo than the pyramid. Mainly since the 30th anniversary of the USFL will be coming up.

Will the USFL's 30th anniversary be celebrated in 2012 or 2013?
