It's reasonable to blame Doc Rivers for the Bucks falling to the 3 seed (if they stayed at 2, Philly probably would've been an even tougher matchup) but losing Giannis for this series was the bigger problem for them, in all fairness. Has every team in the East lost a key starter for this playoff run? That's unfortunate for the game.

Yeah, it’s unfortunate that injuries are sandbagging the East thus far.

Doc wasn't the problem for the Celtics in 2009 or 2010, injuries were.

Now, 14 years and 3 teams later, on the other hand...

Indeed, that was an unfair judgement on my part for the ‘09 and ‘10 Celtics (and I wouldn’t hold 2011 against anybody). But still, the Clippers and 76ers tenures for him have been nothing short of damning regarding his ability to coach past mid-April.

Now I want one of those!

The jerseys need to be more legible, but the whole graphics package is such a breath of fresh air compared to the current Rays set. It’s derivative of the ‘90s – but it’s still very good.

They might just slap this bad boy on the front for year one.

I’m burned out on most slab-serif fonts these days, especially ones with a terrible perspective distortion from Illustrator CS2.

Now I’m picturing a scenario where all the great QBs of the past wear caps instead of helmets. What hats would they wear?

But which QB would wear the thing that literally Satan Mike Love wore in the ‘70s?

The Bills need a WR so they traded with KC, who took a WR.

You just know that dude is going to burn Buffalo into the ground in a playoff game.

Provided the Bills actually make the playoffs. That’s gonna be a big if this year.

  6. And the Niners draft a WR, because they’re terrified of not signing Aiyuk or are ready to move on from Deebo.

I’d say they need defense more than a WR, but the cap issues looming are coloring their decisions.

Now Denver picks Bo Nix, who has like a third round rating. This draft feels like it’s being run using AI.

I mean, it’s still an upgrade from Zach Wilson. In the same way that getting t-boned is an upgrade from getting crushed between two semis.

That would help, but the players wanted the sleeves shortened for the same reason they wanted the jerseys tightened, less to grab onto.

Which was fine until the slob shirts came and gave extra material to grab.

Every time you mention this guy’s name I get The Wreck of the Concepcion from Treasures of the Deep stuck in my head.

What do you want to bet that Joey Kuras or another one of his employees actually composed it? It’s not so far-fetched anymore. Video for those who don’t get the references.

Side note about Tommy: his McMansion (that wasn’t on Cribs) has been listed for sale. The Spider-Man room is still very much there, even though the stagers took out some of the tacky stuff.

I think that this spells the end of franchise continuity in the NHL. Only MLB survives. For now.

It ended already, when the Senators tried to pretend they were connected to the Silver Seven. Speaking of which, I still wish the =O= set was promoted to primary status.

I think it’s safe to say that, finally, the Jets have won something.

I mean, they won SB III. Then proceeded to spend the next 55 or so years being decent-to-basura, with the highlight being Mark Sanchez running right into Brandon Moore's butt and committing a turnover.

Speaking of which, what play best represents Denver's post-SB 50 futility? I would suggest the Hackett field goal.

College teams don't carry the same importance in hockey as they do in basketball. If you did a poll of NHL fans asking them if they know what the University of Denver teams are called I think most of them would draw a blank.

Yeah, that’s most likely the case.

Still, Pioneers would be a boring nickname for a Rocky Mountain hockey team. Of the names picked early, I’d say Yetis and Outlaws are the ones I’d be most inclined to like. The former even has a logo ready!

I’m so happy the Avs ditched the yeti stuff, even if it meant adopting the Colorado flag crap.

I agree with you on the social media team. I remember the Canes social media used to be at least a little clever with their trolling, but some of the stuff they posted last night was cringy to say the least.

As Jimmy said, it's the kind of stuff you heard on Xbox Live back in the late-00s, minus the really awful stuff.

  13. I really wish the home set was the template the rest of the uniforms followed, with the horn helmet as the primary option.

As they are, they’re decent-to-cringeworthy. The H-town set looks ridiculous, while the all-red is a miss. Their primary set is adequate.

Ultimately, I’d say the Lions won this year of tweaking. The Jets are in second, Broncos in third, and Texans leading up the rear. For however iffy the Broncos’ uniforms are, they don’t have an “H-town”-level turd in their set.
