I'm surprised that the Whipsnakes hung around. I thought for sure the Bayhawks name would have been resurrected from the MLL graveyard for the Maryland franchise

The Whipsnakes were the PLL's first champion. No way they were going to get rebranded. Plus IIRC the Bayhawks former owner in particular was somebody from the MLL Paul Rabil wasn't on good terms with. That guy came off as a big time nob in the PLL documentary. Rabil seems like he'd be petty enough to let the Bayhawks brand (which I never cared for btw) stay dormant just out of spite.

  2. So I'm watching the NCAA women's championship game and ummm... what's the deal with players throwing their sticks down to the ground after damn near every goal? Never seen this on the men's side at any level, but seen it multiple times in this game. Very odd.

  3. Interesting take from the Rabils. When asked if they ever considered developing a minor league for the PLL, Paul says he'd personally like to see pro lacrosse develop into a promotion/relegation system. He noted the league would need to be around 30 teams before it could happen though. Time stamped.

  4. Just finished watching the game. Had to record it since I had a prior commitment (SN; I found out firsthand how difficult it is to avoid spoilers of a live sporting event). Congrats to the champions!!!

I guess now that the PVF season is over this thread could be used to follow the women's national team in the VNL tournament and the Olympics this summer.

Rugby Sevens would probably raise a stink, but I like the idea of something that stands out.

Truth be told I've thought The Basketball Tournament should rebrand for years now. The name is too generic for my liking.
