What the hell was the point of the Stadium/Bally deal when none of the games aired on those two channels?

Perhaps PVF found out something bad about the networks close to the start of the season and decided to back out of the deal. I've heard a lot of talk about Bally's hanging on by a thread. Not sure about Stadium though.

  2. Was watching the YouTube stream of the Omaha/Atlanta game. Somebody in the chat brought up inconsistent spacing between double digit numbers. I went down a mini rabbit whole of PVF game images. They weren't wrong. Number 11 for Omaha tonight had a huge gap between the ones on her jersey compared to the one and eight on De La Cruz' number 18  jersey, as well as number 10. Pretty much every double digit Vegas jersey had a wide space between the numbers in their last game.

Does that bug anybody else? Don't really see it from major sports uniform suppliers these days. When I do see it though, it really grinds my gears.

I'm actually wondering how long they'll last in Vegas. Through 4 home games, they're averaging barely over 2k a game, have the three lowest total attendances and even had one game under 1k. I don't know if it's them playing in Henderson and if playing in one of the other arenas closer to the strip and the heart of the entertainment area would help or not, but it doesn't seem to be as popular of a market as they had hoped.

Las Vegas seemed like the oddest city for this league to be honest. From what I understand LV is not a major volleyball market compared to other cities currently not in PVF. I guess PVF saw a legit ownership group step forward in Vegas and brought them into the fold.

It would also greatly benefit the Dallas PVF team if the other pro sports teams acknowledged their existence too and supported them if they get a championship run.

From what I could tell the Las Vegas Aces openly acknowledge the Thrill. Even some Raiders players have been spotted at their games. Not sure about other PVF cities. To be fair though 2 of the league's 7 cities have no existing major franchises.

  5. I find myself rooting for the Orlando Valkyries since MK White is from the same county I am. With that said, for as good as she can be offensively Jill Gillen is a defensive liability on the front line. She rarely makes contact with the opposing team's spikes let alone blocks them. It seems like teams target her when they can. Definitely felt like Omaha was doing that today.

Looks like Panther City is an epic disaster for the NLL from a marketing and attendance standpoint.  I live out here and there has been zero marketing for PCLC, although that's because I live in Dallas County and not Forth Worth.  They seem to be the only major sports team not to reach to every part of the DFW Metroplex

Sounds like ownership/management is the problem if they are not marketing themselves to the entire metro area. A potential relocation wouldn't change a thing. They likely do the same thing in a different market. Does NLL have procedures in place to forcibly remove an ownership group in a situation like this?

I liked Orlando’s jersey. It’s gimmicky, but fake armor is a gimmick that works for me when you’re called the Valkyries.

It's a no for me. It reminds me of the Tennessee Titans' current current jerseys, which I was never a fan of.

I remember when the teams unveiled (one of) their uniforms a while back, and seeing a royal blue Orlando jersey. I don't recall there being any armor design on it though, so I assumed their third was a long sleeve royal blue version of the other jerseys. The sky blue and white jerseys look way better than these.

And it's a little odd they went with royal blue instead of navy blue for the third jersey. Royal blue is not present in any other part of their branding.

It does always amuse me in volleyball when there’s one team in sleeveless jerseys and the other team in long sleeves. Can’t think of a single other sport that has that happen.

There may be no long sleeve jerseys in baseball, but I'm pretty sure the Rockies still have those vests in their rotation.

Level of play was also awesome. I was super impressed with the serving, you don’t really see balls bend like that in college.

They go out there way to point out most of the players in this league have played major D1 volleyball, played in an high level overseas leagues and/or played in international volleyball competition. I never doubted the quality of play would be an issue.

The merch also didn’t do a good job of establishing our colors since we had a pretty equal mix of light blue, navy, purple, pink, and white stuff for sale.

My only gripe with their branding is they have too many colors. It makes since with actual supernovas being colorful, but perhaps they should have pulled a Steelers move as far as having logo colors vs uniform colors.

Another attendance record, this time a little over 11.9k.

Realistically where do you think this team will peak for attendance this season? Keeping in mind Omaha is one of the best teams in PVF and Nebraska is easily the volleyball capital of the US. Could you imagine the arena opening up sections that were previously unavailable? How close do you think they could get to reaching the arena's max capacity?
