  1. It's part of the "United" series from House Industries http://www.houseind.com/fonts/unitedcollection
  2. Villanova's font is custom-designed for the university.
  3. He looks like he's about to cry. Well, he is playing in Oakland...
  4. Nope. I redrew it based on Swiss' template.
  5. Appears to be Compacta to me. "MLB 08" looks like Compacta to me as well, but I think "The Show" looks more like Eurostile Bold Condensed. Upon closer inspection...you may be right. Aiight JP22...where you at mayn??? Like some of the great Renaissance masters, I'm letting my interns run the shop for a while...
  6. That might just be a custom mark. I first noticed it when I went to England 20 years ago. Upon further research, I stumbled across this: And more can be found here.
  7. Plantin Bold Italic The Costner font looks very familiar to me...I think I have it at home, but I won't be back there for at least another 12 hours.
  8. There is no AHL fontpack....yet Not sure about the numbers. The lettering looks like a modified version of Aurora.
  9. Souvenir Demi or Bold Italic
  10. Optima Bold you might be able to find the freeware version "MBisordi.ttf"
  11. Looks like NCAA Gothic, used by Southern Illinois ans Xavier basketball.
  12. You need to Offset Path, or go to the Appearance palette and add a stroke, dragging its layer below your object layer.
  13. Korinna, badly kerned. Unless it's talking about a venue.
  14. I believe it's called "Crap Store". I have no clue what-so-ever. good thing you padded your post count with a poor attempt at a joke The font is Garamond
  15. I went to an art school and majored in graphic design. All first and second year students have to take Drawing I and II as part of their foundation classes (required classes). Drawing I & II, Life Drawing I & II, 2-D Design, Color Theory, Graphic Design I and II, Illustration, Sculpture, Painting I and II, and various Art History classes. Most art schools will have the same basic foundation curriculum. By this point, there might be computer graphics and typography classes included.
  16. Just Drawing I and Drawing II at art school. Both were mandatory.
  17. Squint. Squinting at an object causes it to be desaturated, allowing you to pick up the lights and darks easier. I leaned this in drawing classes in college. Of course, you could also bring your reference picture into Photoshop and desaturate it there, then posterize it or play with the curves to increase the contrast with the lights and darks.
  18. D. none of the above. The closest is a font called Tasse, but even that one doesn't match up 100%.
  19. Check Eriq Jaffe's signature file. The font is very similar to the one used by the Bears, Chiefs and Bills.
  20. Not sure if PNG supports transparency (probably does, but I don't usually save in that format). A GIF file will support transparency. If you're working in Photoshop, the easiest way is to make a layered file, but turn off the visibility of the bottom layer, then "save as web", make sure the file option is set to GIF, and check the transparency button.
  21. You mean like the text here: If so, highlight everything you want arched, then go Shift F9 to bring up the Pathfinder tab. Click on Merge to make everything one compound shape, and it also Groups it. Then go Effect>Warp>Arc Lower. Play with the Bend Percentage until it looks like what you want. I have Illustrator 8.0... how can i vertacly arch text using this program, because none of the keys you described are on this earlier program that i have. I don't think you can arch text in 8.0. I don't think it came in until version 9.0 or 10.0. Before then you had to use third party software or plug-ins.
