Thanks for the photos. When I saw this ring, I thought it could not be real! The Shanks, especially the vertical lines on the non-last name side, looks awful. Jostens who made the ring, usually does a much better design. Here's some additional information on these rings: The NFC championship ring was designed and manufactured by Jostens, the championship ring company that makes more championship rings than any other company. The championship ring is made of 10-karat slid white gold, and features a custom-cut aquamarine stone and 77 diamonds with a total weight of 1.35 carats. One side of the NFC championship ring features the player's name above an image of Bank of America Stadium. The other side (also known as a shank) features the Panthers' motto 'KEEP POUNDING'. This side of the championship ring also features an image of the NFC Championship Trophy and is accented with two-tone 10-karat yellow gold to match the special Super Bowl 50 logo. Inside the championship ring contains the Super Bowl 50 logo and the words 'CAROLINA PANTHERS 10-0 AT HOME, 15-1 SEASON. Any thoughts on the design of this ring?

Anyone want to talk about the designs of the Super Bowl 2000 ring or NFC 2000 ring? The ring on the left is the Baltimore Ravens first ever Super Bowl Ring from their 2000 season. This beautiful championship ring was designed and manufactured by Jostens. One thing to notice is that this Super Bowl ring, and the two Super Bowl rings from the two seasons before, all have similar tops, similar styles and were all done by Jostens. In fact the next one to follow, The Patriots Super Bowl XXXVI ring also was made by Jostens and has the same top and styling. The Ravens Super Bowl XXXV ring shown below, weighs approximately 64 grams and is made of solid 14 carat yellow gold. The team that loses the Super Bowl is recognized as a champion of their respective conference.   The New York Giants 2000 NFC championship ring, shown above, like the 2000 Ravens Super Bowl rings, have sold quite a few times at auction. The Giants NFC championship ring weighs in at 45 grams. The championship ring does not contain a lot of bling for an NFC championship ring, yet it's still a very nice looking championship ring and is in high demand by collectors. The Giants NFC championship ring was made by Jostens in 14K solid yellow gold.

Here's something I've never seen before.... What do you think of this design and the fact that it's a Sumo Wrestling Championship ring? A 100% authentic Jostens salesman sample, Yokozuna Grand Championship Sumo Wrestling Championship ring has hit the auction block. The championship ring is made of solid 10K gold and is made of 36 grams. The championship ring is properly marked with the Jostens engraving and the word "Sample". Check out the very usual shanks. The 64 number, so prominently displayed is because the wrestler named, Akebono, in 1993 become the grand champion, of sumo wresting in Japan. He had the distinction of becoming sumo's first foreign-born grand champion, and was the 64th overall champion. To read more about this ring, please check out my blog where I wrote a story about it.

Clemson's newest ACC football championship rings debuted on the Internet this week. The championship ring has that new, familiar, large championship ring shape, however, the thing that jumps out to me is the odd background coloring and shape, seen around the imitation diamond (more on diamonds and college championship rings in a moment). I really like the paw logo shown prominently on this championship ring, however, I would have suggested the background metal surrounding it could have been thinner to help the paw stand out more. Now about the "diamonds" and "gold" on this championship ring... All college championship rings (and High School too), are huge and stunning, but they're made with imitation diamonds and non gold materials. That means that these championship rings from a jewelry point of view are not worth much money, however, in no way does that take away what these beautiful championship rings means to the recipients. Congratulations to Clemson on a great season and a great looking championship ring.

Anyone want to discuss the design of the 1999 Super Bowl and runner up AFC championship rings? Although no longer one of the largest Super Bow rings ever made, few rings can match the pizzazz and bling of the Rams ring. One of the first mega-blinged championship rings to emerge. Both rings shown above were made by Jostens and share some similar designs (the rams ring is 10K, while the Titans ring is 14K)

Here is another couple of views of the new Mets ring and some additional information: The new Mets championship ring features 110 diamonds and 42 sapphires. The blue sapphires are used to showcase the Mets logo. Two interesting features of the new championship rings: The blue sapphires seem too light in my opinion and are not a solid color match for the Mets official colors. Second, I don't recall having seen other championship rings play tribute to the previous successful seasons the team has had with engravings on the inside of the championship ring. You can see below, Jostens did this with the Mets ring. Last, while you can't buy a player-sized Mets championship ring for yourself, you can purchase a substantially less-blinged, non gold, non diamond championship ring directly from Jostens. A Mets championship ring will cost $349.

Thanks for trying to find pictures! Speaking of twitter, have they changed their search software. I used to search for pictures for championship rings and would get dozens and dozens of results. For the last week or so I only get a handful of pictures. Am I doing something wrong or did they change/modify their search functions?

Here are the designs of the Packers Super Bowl 45 rings - player's version along-side with the Shareholders version. The shareholders version was only available to the many shareholders the team has. Very nice gesture and design on the part of the Packer organization.

Speaking of the Mets.... From my daily blog on championship rings and championship ring designs..... Jostens and N.Y. Mets Team Up For The 2015 National League Championship Ring Here’s a look at the Mets current collection of World Series and Championship rings: Jostens announced this week that they have been awarded the assignment to create the championship rings to celebrate the New York Mets’ 2015 National League Championship. Mets’ management have been collaborating with the Jostens Championship design team including Josten’s Master Jeweler to design and produce the championship rings for the ball players and key members of the organization. The championship rings are due to be presented in April (gee, that’s next month!). Unlike their cross time rivals, the Yankees, the Mets have a lot less championship rings. While the Yankees have only used Balfour for decades on their World Series rings and American League championship rings, the Mets have been much less steady. In 1969, The Mets chose Jostens to make their very first World Series ring. Four years later, when they lost to the A’s in the World Series, the Mets picked Balfour to make the 1973 National League championship ring. In 1986, when the Mets won their second World Championship, they stuck with Balfour for that year’s World Series Ring. And finally, back in 2000, the during the team’s last appearance in the fall classic, the Mets picked Jostens to make their 2000 National League championship ring.

That amazing ring was presented to key members of the team in 1962. It is an inauguration ring from the teams first season. I don't think the players received that ring but executives and management and ownership did.

The photo below was recently tweeted and helped me realize some significant things regarding design trends in recent Super Bowl rings. The photo was taken at the NFL Headquarters, located on Park Avenue in New York City. As I have written about many times, you can’t walk in off the street, get in the elevator and go to lobby of the NFL. Security is incredibly tight and you must be invited to the NFL headquarters to visit. Once in the lobby of their offices, you can see the most amazing display of Super Bowl rings known to man. Every single winning Super Bowl ring is displayed (actually they’re salesman samples but close enough). Here’s what the photo reveals: 1) Although Tiffany and Company has made plenty of recent Super Bowl rings, including the Giants last two, the Saints only one, and the Seahawks only one, Tiffany is losing momentum. I say that because as the photo shows, Jostens has made the last two of the three Super Bowl rings (they made the Pats and Ravens Super Bowl rings shown above, and Tiffany manufactured the Seahawks ring). And, keep in the mind that the Broncos have already selected Jostens to make their new 2015 Bronco Super Bowl ring. 2) In my humble opinion, the two Jostens Super Bowl rings shown are much nicer in design and implementation than the Seahawks ring. 3) The final revelation in the photo is that Patriots ring is so much larger and massive than any other Super Bowl ring ever produced. It’s quite evident as you can compare the last three Super Bowl rings. Any thoughts on these rings?

Anyone want to talk about the design of the rings from Super Bowl XXXIII? The Falcons ring show a great deal of bling for an NFC championship ring, and the Bronco ring is one of the nicest Super Bowl rings ever made!

I don't think that ring has a chance... it's not a shape we have ever seen Jostens before, and the four tiny diamonds on top would seem odd (especially since they only won three super bowls) also, the ring is too similar to their first ring, and there's no tribute to the three championships they won.

Jostens Shows Off Their Amazing Super Bowl Rings Over the last few years, Jostens and Tiffany have designed and manufactured all the recent Super Bowl rings. shown below are the last three Jostens Super Bowl rings. While Tiffany has made the last two Giant Super Bowl rings and they also manufactured the winning Seahawks and Saints rings, Jostens continues to outshine them. The three Super Bowl rings below were all designed and made by Jostens. They have made more Super Bowl rings than any other manufacturer, yet Tiffany has done their fair share of Super Bowl rings over the last decade too. While I find the Tiffany Super Bowl rings to be gorgeous, in my opinion, their NFC championship rings have been lacking. And while those Tiffany Super Bowl rings are glorious, in my humble opinion, I believe the Jostens Super Bowl rings are even better. The three Super Bowl rings from left to right are the Packers 2010 Super Bowl ring, the Ravens 2012 Super Bowl ring, and the Patriots 2014 Super Bowl ring. The Packers championship ring is the only Super Bowl ring made of solid platinum, not gold, and the Ravens ring is larger (but not heavier, due to the fact that gold weighs less than platinum). The huge championship ring on the right is the Patriots Super Bowl XLIX ring and it’s the largest Super Bowl ring ever designed. Remember the Patriots championship ring in the above photograph is further away from the camera so it would appear even larger if the three rings were shown at the same distance from left to right.

I agree totally. Except for the head coach and Elway, and perhaps a couple of other coaches and staff the team has been completely turned over since their last super bowl victories. Time for a new theme as we have seen some teams do that have not won for a while (yet the Raiders stay very consistent over the decades which is very cool too)

The Broncos Three Headed Super Bowl Ring, shown below, Ain’t Happening Nice photoshop work, and an interesting idea, but don’t expect Jostens to design a Broncos Super Bowl 50 ring like this (see below) This photoshopped proposed Super Bowl 50 ring made the rounds recently on Twitter. While Jostens is now hard at work coming up with possible designs and showing them to the Broncos executives, my predation is you won’t see any three diamond-filled Bronco logos on the next championship ring. In recent years, the trend for Super Bowl rings has been to place multiple Lombardi trophies on the ring. In the Broncos Super Bowl 50 ring, that would mean three marques diamonds, one for each trophy. The Broncos first Super Bowl ring did have a beautiful diamond horse-head logo, and their second Super Bowl ring a year later contained two horse-head logos to signify their second World championship. Besides running out of room on the ring, three Horse-head logos look too busy and somehow would probably get lost on the championship ring. Hopefully the Super Bowl 50 ring will be made in yellow gold – to match Denver’s previous two Super Bowl rings and to pay tribute to the Golden anniversary the NFL just celebrated. Jostens Super Bowl Ring Bragging Rights On Twitter This tweet was sent out recently. This Championship Ring Picture Rocks! While the picture of six fairly recent Jostens Super Bowl rings is magnificent, and shows the amazing championship ring work that Jostens does, there are some issues with the photograph that championship ring enthusiasts should be aware of. 1) The Super Bowl rings shown above are not photographed to scale. In reality the Patriots first Super Bowl ring from 2001, shown on the lower left is smaller than the two other Patriot Super Bowl rings shown to the right of that ring. 2) In actuality, the Patriots Super Bowl ring from 2003, shown in the middle of the bottom row, is larger than the 2001 Super Bowl ring but smaller than the ring shown on the right (the 2004 championship ring). 3) If the photo was done recently, where's the Patriots latest Super Bowl ring? That championship ring is the largest Super Bowl ring ever, however, in this illustration it would probably have been scaled down as to not dwarf the other rings. 4) All the rings were photo-shopped very carefully into the picture as it would be impossible to line them up the way the illustration shows. 5) The Packers Super Bowl ring from 2010, shown in the upper middle is the heaviest Super Bowl ring ever, since it was made of solid Platinum, where the most recent Patriots Super Bowl ring (not shown) was made of 10K white gold and although larger, is lighter since 10K gold is around 20% lighter than platinum. I bring this up because the Packer Super Bowl ring is also not to scale, it is smaller than the two Super Bowl rings it is shown next to.

Jostens Is Making The Super Bowl 50 Ring WCCO 4 News, a Minnesota Television Station is reporting that Jostens has been awarded the Super Bowl 50 Ring Project From The Denver Broncos. This has to be the fastest Super Bowl ring manufacturing assignment I can remember. Usually, teams in the sports community meet with multiple championship ring manufactures to see what is available once a budget is decided upon by the team. And I believe, probably due to superstition, karma, and bad luck, teams don't usually meet or even discuss championship rings until the title event has concluded. So is it possible, the Broncos met with Jostens and others before the Super Bowl to discuss championship rings? Anyway, it's very fitting that Jostens, will go down in history as creating the first Super bowl ring (for the Green Bay Packers), and now the 50th Super Bowl ring for the Denver Broncos. Because the design process takes a while and multiple drawings and prototypes are usually presented to the team for feedback before production begins, It takes months for the championship rings to be made. Look for the Super Bowl rings to show up on the internet around June and be presented shortly afterwards. Once the design is finalized, Jostens workers will make a mold for each of the 53 players on the team with their name and jersey number on the side. Additionally, there will be player-sized Super Bowl rings for the owners, their family, coaches, scouts, and high-level team executives. The Broncos will have complete discretion on how many player-size Super Bowl rings to award to other employees with the team, and the Broncos can design and manufacture smaller championship rings for other staff who are lower on the corporate ladder. Not only is it possible to award lesser rings, they can me made with non-gold metals and possibly imitation diamonds. These options are entirely up to the Broncos.

I had heard the new ring was 100 grams by someone at Jostens, but now that you are reporting it too, I feel two Jostens sources must be reliable! Thanks! Keep in mind the last huge 10K super bowl ring was the Ravens from a couple of years back. That ring weighs around 88-90 grams so the Pats ring could be about 10% larger than the Ravens ring and that would make sense based upon the photos we have seen.
