Hannah McNair, Texans CEO's wife, talked about the new uniforms at a team charity golf tournament the other day.

Amy Adams Strunk, the daughter of the late Bud Adams and owner of the Tennessee Titans, owns the rights to everything having to do with the Houston Oilers, including the colors, logo and uniforms

This is BS, right? How can the Titans prevent the Texans from using light blue?

I hate the finish on the red Texans helmet... it's too dark and the finish shifts the shade of red too much toward orange.

I am always surprised when people here say they like the red helmet. I think people perhaps just like the idea of more red helmets in the league. Heck, I am on board with that.

But in practice it just did not work for the Texans. Maybe it would work with a flatter finish, but to me it clashes very hard with the red jersey. Could possibly work with the blue jerseys?

The one by Emily Morgan is rather disappointing because her Lions concept was pretty nice. I know she is trying to force the "CLE" in there, but all it really does is add clutter, plus the mouth looks awkward.

The concepts by VDizzle12 and Bpodger look pretty good; I'd go with one of those.

She gets tons of views on TikTok, but she is not a very good designer imo. Stuff is way too flat and she leans on the crutch of forcing hidden elements in so people think the design is really clever.

    This one kinda sucks :

    So does this one:

I don't love how negative I am being here. It is great to see a young woman establish a following doing this. We need more of that.

She will probably win this Browns contest because of her popularity, and maybe that's fine.

I just wish her designs were ... better.

Reddit was where the "Rams are going highlighter yellow and grey," "Broncos are going grey and orange," and "Cowboys are going with chrome helmets" came from.

Remember the guy who said the Jags would have gold helmets with "Jags" in a UCLA style script? Reddit.

The guy who lied about the Bengals' helmet? Reddit.

    Stop believing leaks/news from Redditors.

I kinda wonder if this is all just a single pathological liar.

  5. What a disaster the Nike era of NFL uniform design has been. Is there even one iconic new uniform to emerge? I guess maybe the Chargers?

But there have been numerous utter disasters and the most well-received uniforms have been returns to looks that pre-existed Nike like the Browns and Bucs.

It's pretty pathetic when people are happy because Nike didn't totally ruin the Cardinals.

There’s more dysfunctional teams in the NFL, trust me. Cardinals are my number 2?team as being raised in Glendale. But then there’s Detroit, Jacksonville and others that are out there that say hold my beers

I don't want to derail this thread, but since it seems like there will be a lull as we await the official uniform unveiling I will push back a little here.

In the last few months the Cardinals have been rated as the second-worst team to play for by NFL players, with F  scores for their training facilities, food, and treatment of players' families.

The owner was just accused of using burner phones to get around the DUI suspension of the ex-GM, and that GM was accused a few months ago of groping a woman in Mexico and then framing and firing a team staffer to take the fall for it.

With Dan Snyder selling the Commanders and hopefully going on to rot in hell, the Cardinals are absolutely the most dysfunctional front office in the NFL. It is remarkable they contained leaks of this new uniform.

Nearly every uniform reveal is leaked in some sort of fashion from what I can remember. Titans retail, Jags airport, Falcons photoshoot, Commanders team store, Bengals on Ebay somehow.

And with almost all of these, people online claimed it was the team deliberately planting fakes to throw us off the scent. LOL.

Yeah, the Jets went to the trouble of designing fake uniforms and staging a fake photoshoot with Sam Darnold just to trick their fans for a whole week before unveiling the real uniforms. Money well spent!

This thread is devolving into @TruColor being forced to play the most tedious game of 20 Questions in the Western Hemisphere.

Or maybe it's evolving. We are all hungry for these tidbits. Isn't that why we come here? Gimme those tidbits.

Also there is really not a whole lot stopping him from just describing the uniforms to us in more definitive (or even full) detail, but I will let him decide what he's comfortable doing.

  9. The draft makes no sense as a uniform reveal location. The pick isn't gonna wear the pants and helmet. At most he will hold up the jersey or put it on. And it would completely overshadow the pick (or vice versa) when you could just make them both big events that get full media coverage.

Is there a world where the new colors not used in major sports is simply Red-Yellow-Blue? As in the state flag?

This is basically what I am imagining based on all the hints. Except maybe more of a maroon, copper, navy blue? In my head is a uniform with some desert cardinal ideas and some gradient-y Arizona sunset ideas.

If this is Photoshop, it’s a pretty decent one.  Even has Valley of the Sun in the inside collar.

Oh this is Photoshop surely. I can't imaging radical new Nike uniforms that retain the same number font and wordmark.

Based on how vague the few people who seem to have actual information about these uniforms are being, this is kind of what I expect.

I actually don’t mind the Jaguars uniforms when they wear the right combinations

The ones posted above are at best tolerable. But when they wear white over stripeless white/black with barely a hint of teal or gold anywhere on the uniform... ugh. They aren't as easy to hate on as the Titans or Commanders because there is no single element that can be pointed out as bad. But the overall lack of any design details is just awful. They bore me to death.

The Panthers in all black just comes across to me as such a dumb idea. I get that Panthers are all black, but they already a division rival rival that does all black. Three of the four NFC South teams have black home jerseys and the last thing we need is a second mono all black team. That has to be the dullest division in the NFL color wise.

AFC South is a contender for most boring uniform division. All 4 teams are primarily blue (depending on how you define teal). Lots of mono looks.

But yeah I think the NFC South would take it if the Panthers commit to all black.

  15. All the Panthers are doing is changing the shade of blue slightly and changing the jersey template so the stripes don't go all the way around?

Yikes. Huge whiff by the mothership in posting that article earlier confirming that "new uniforms" are coming. By no reasonable measure does this count as new uniforms.

For the record, I'm still hoping that this is all a smokescreen, and the real uniforms will be a modern/traditional hybrid of some kind.

Shouldn't we all be past this?

Every time a bad new uniform leaks (Titans, Jags, Jets, Browns, etc etc etc) people pray it is a smokescreen. No NFL team is spending resources making fake uniforms from scratch just to throw off fans for a couple weeks before the official unveiling lol. Just a ridiculous notion. Leaks are always real.

Now in this particular case nothing has actually leaked yet, right? It all seems to trace back to one Reddit user. And we have absolutely seen Reddit users (and forum members here *cough* Teal) invent fake uniform news because they are, well, sociopaths. This case ... still kinda seems like it could be one of those.

But Tru - if you have a photo of the new helmet in a factory and new pantone values from an actual trusted source and not some random Reddit guy, then how could this one possibly be a smokescreen?

At DeMeco Ryans’ introductory press conference, the Texans put 2 helmets on tables behind him.

    BOTH WERE BATTLE RED

    could be nothing….. unless….

A lot of uniform things we dissect around here are nothing, but deliberately choosing the red helmets for the background of the first photos taken of your new head coach is very easy to believe as a more of a something than a nothing.

Put the Titans in navy and yellow (Predators colors, fits the market, unique to NFL, solid football color scheme) and let the Texans go with light blue, red, and navy.

I just can't see this happening. The Adams family is fiercely protective of the luv ya blue. Doubt they ever willingly give it up to the hated Texans.

But if navy and yellow did happen, it would not only tie the Titans to other pro teams in their own market, but also sort of tie them to the historic New York Titans. Maybe they could even wrangle a way to wear those throwbacks if we're already going down the path of franchises trading history.
