  1. Forgot about some teams

Chelsea FC: Favourite in the English league because my friend liked them, and i was just getting into pro soccer at the time with l'OM and wanted an English team so took his

FC Köln: Friend at the time lived there, so, again, took his team.

Adelaide Crows: YOU know, i jsut tried to start watching the AFL and footy this year and liked the Crows stripes. With no real connection to Australia, best i could do haha

  2. Neulion did a pretty decent job with USL-1 back in the day, so it might well be quality.

Believe it or not, some people actually enjoy minor-league sports, especially if they don't live directly in a major-league market.

Including myself. I love my Bisons, I love my Marlies, I love my Keys, and not because they are the minor league affiliate of a team i care about. I want my major teams affilates to do well, but not at the expense of my teams.

EDIT: my point was, that the price that Neulion charges is insane, not that their service is bad and is something i would like to have, but not at that price

  3. Buffalo insert sports team here: My home and my love.

Insert Toronto sports team not named the Blue Jays: Favourite Canadian city, and possibly the only city that could take me away from wanting to be in Buffalo. Also closest city to Buffalo with more major sports. Perpetually in second place in my heart, besides the raptors, argos and marlies.

    Canadian national teams: see above

Pirates: Lived in pittsburgh a fair amount of my life, now here for grad school but the above preclude any allegiance

Orioles: I started following them at the beginning of last season as a preparation for my eventual move to the DMV because of teaching jobs. The Ravens also fall under the category. Also the reason that the blue jays are not a team I call myself a fan of, but for the sake of Canadian teams and a toronto sports team I still like and hope the best for.

Olympique de Marseille: My French language and cultural skills are very important to me, making Ligue 1 the most important foot league to me. At to the particulars, I forget why I support them because i picked them in 7th grade(so, 2005-2006), but have to this day.

    French National teams: see above

RC toulon: closest team to Marseille.

DHL Stormers/WP rugby: i dont know this one, honestly. started playing rugby and liked the Springboks.

Springboks: Not sure on this one.

  4. I don't know how unpopular this is, but there are a number of CFL identities that I really like.

The bottom three haven't been worn for several years.

My unpopular opinion is that CFL identities really aren't that bad. Aside from Montréal, all teams have good logos and workable colour schemes (however poor their execution may be). You've got two terrific looks (TOR, HAM), two-and-a-half good looks (BC, WPG, and EDM's home), an okay look (MTL), two bad looks (SSK, OTT), and two downright horrendous looks (CGY, EDM's road). The NHL has a similar ratio.

See, that's why I said "I don't know how unpopular this is..." I was thinking there were a fair amount of people who like Hamilton and Toronto's uniforms.

Toronto would be perfect if they went with the signature series helmet full time, or added a light blue stripe to the current helmet.

    hamilton is still fantastic though

I like the Washington Nats' current uniforms. I thought the original wordmark the Nats used at home was horrible. Many are critical that the current "W" resembles the Walgreens logo, but I see it as a nice tribute to the Washington Senators 2.0 of my childhood.

I don't mind the curly w at all, but the nationals have such a nice script it is a shame they don't even use it on an alt jersey.

  6. I'm perfectly fine with the AHL basically operating as two leagues until the Finals. It's the reality of it operating as three leagues, one of which gets its own set of rules that potentially has an adverse impact on one of the other two leagues, that burns my biscuits.

Thinking about it, this is pretty much how it has been operating. I mean, look at the Amerks. PLayed 10+games against the divison, plus about the same against Syracuse. just make the games equal and we can go back to what we had before.

  7. If by beautiful you mean hediously ugly and not at all representive of the team's nickname. Because nothing says "distinctive" like using a color scheme already used by three teams (and soon to be a fourth) And the striping just being the Leafs is a straight up lie. So you hate the Canucks home uniforms because the striping is just the Devils minus the shoulder yoke?

I'm not even a huge fan of the original Sabres uniforms (the buffalo is poorly rendered and the striping color inconsistency is horrendous), but the logo still had more appeal than the goathead. Seriously, WTF is that on the bottom right side of the logo? And blue and yellow (not navy) is one of the greatest color schemes ever.

The Sabres have never truly had a good uniform, but the goathead is the worst (I honestly prefer the Buffaslug to it, at least that one had some appeal and a better color scheme).

I've read you praise these uniforms multiply times, and it honestly feels like you just hate the original logo (and obviously the slug), so you just latch onto the goathead because you feel like you have to like at least one Sabres look. That's just my two cents, maybe you really like that hideous crap.

Who says a logo needs to spell out a teams namesake? Does the Bruins logo depict a bear? Does the Canadien's logo depict a Canadian? You can call the Sabres red and black scheme derivative all you want, but its not like their blue and gold look was wholly original either. The Blues beat them to it by three years and did a much better job. As for referring to that fantastic render of a Buffalo as a "goat-head", I would suggest picking up a book on wildlife because that logo looks nothing like a goat... It's hideous why? Because it actually looks like Buffalo instead of a non-descript blob?

thing is though, the flag of buffalo(partially depicted in my avatar) is blue and white, without a semblance of red.

  8. For some reason I like the Bills old uniforms. Don't get me wrong, I actually like their current uniforms. I just really like these for some strange reason:

(I know that nobody agrees with me.)

    You are 1insaneguy
That monstrosity might be worse than the jags or bucs
Honestly, I agree that I like them. Not better than what they have now, but I like them.

I do though, like that red helmet a lot better than the current whites.

  9. All-one-color uniforms should be outlawed.

    So should black alts.

    Is it really unpopular?

for every sport except basketball, and some cases for hockey, and some cases for soccer. Hell even football has some cases where monochrome looks good.

    not to mention specifically baseball.

Black alts arent the worst either, provided it is a primary or secondary colour.

  10. I much prefer the current Miami Dolphins logo to any of their previous ones.

I don't prefer it, yet it has grown more respectfully for me since inception. The full clean whites are a great uniform to make the brand. I think the only aspect I'd edit is their new font... it's too thin.

The logo I could go either way. I like the football helmet, but this one is a sideways move for me.

That said, uniforms are a MASSIVE downgrade.

  11. I'm starting to dislike the entire Cubs identity. The home jersey looks really amateur with the blue pinstripes and the whole Cubs in the circle looks... Boring. The vest they wore as a throwback a couple of years ago looks way better IMO. I absolutely hate the road jersey. From the font to the color of the number being different than the script. It just looks bad. I always thought the road jersey with the red line under it was their best look. The alt road speaks for itself. The blue jersey is probably the best of the set.

Care to explain how blue pinstripes look amateurish? You must think the Mets home looks amateurish too, right?

not to mention, taking blue pinstripe to be any shade of the colour blue, the yankees as well.

  12. It's too hard to drive the bus up and down I-5 for eight more games?

It would totally ruin player development.

Also, I know I've said it before, but I can't help repeating that last season, the AHL was 6 divisions of 5 teams each. They move 5 teams to California, and rather than just giving them a division, they switch to a 4-division lineup *and* give the Special Snowflakes their wish for a shortened schedule, despite holding the rest of the league, including two teams in their division, the full 76. I am screaming from the rooftops for these entitled West Coast pissbabies to fail.

Also, has anyone thought about how three-point games factor into points percentage standings? Don't worry if you haven't; I'm sure the league hasn't, either!

I honestly think the division switch is more to do with teams like toronto, rochester, utica wanting to move into the east(like det and col) than anything else
