    This...

    05_EReed_news.jpg

    is better than this...

    AFC+Wild+Card+Game+Baltimore+Ravens+v+Mi

The Ravens should really be a black team first, to separate themselves from the Vikings as the leagues purple team...

Also if the Ravens wore purple socks with the Black-Black-White combo they would be in the top 5 uniforms in the league.

    Meh.

Steelers and Bengals are black teams in the same division.

Add in Oakland, and that's three black primary teams in the same conference, four with the theoretical ravens.

I think the NFL can manage two purple teams in two different conferences

You listed four teams and said they were the only five who should wear navy. I actually sort of agree with you though.

The Texans should also be able to keep their colors, but their blue isn't really navy. They call it "deep steel blue" and, true to the metallic name, it has more grey in it than navy does.

I'd love to see the Rams, Titans and Bills drop navy though.

I don't mind the bills in navy, but, the way they are using it it shouldn't be there.

I suppose it is matter of taste but, to me it seems like the current number font just seems like the uniform equivalent to a black eye

Would it look a lot better with a block font? For sure. My thing is that it fits with the whole great ideas ruined thing. Like how the sleeve stripes have been ruined and the like

I agree with you on this. there is nothing wrong with a font different from the norm. Teams like minnesota, Philadelphia and the dolphins pre re brand proves this but, I still think the Steelers font is incredibly ugly and just looks out of place compared to the other elements on the uni.

A classic identity ruined by modernity? Id say the font fits right in with the steelers jersey(see shrinking sleeve and cutoff stripes)

Les Canadiens first and foremost. Followed by Liverpool FC, Impact de Montréal, the French national soccer team and Red Star Paris. Alouettes as well, but less so at the moment.

So glad you didn't say PSG.

I've got a question or two that's been irritating for me...since the last update or so, there's been no way to select custom text colors. There used to be a select color or custom color bar when you'd be able to put in a HEX/RGB value, for, say the NFL Pick 'Em challenge, but why has the feature been taken out? Is there a way around it? Would there be the possibility to put it back in?

    Replace all ( with [ and ) with ]

    (color=Name)text (/color)

    Testing with blue.

    should be blue

If the bottom doesn't work, using color names does. If it does, then codes work too (4169e1)

On Fridays, we had Dressdown days for teachers in my school board (Jeans, hoodies, whatever the teacher likes), and technically he was a ECE (Early Childhood Educator) & it was when we had that playoff run in 2013.

I got suspended for uttering something offensive to a member of authority.

What grade was it for you?

I know I'd have let it slide, but i know coworkers that wouldn't.

The post-Apartheid flag of South Africa does a really good job merging the red, white, and blue of the white Afrikaner heritage with the black African National Congress' colours of green, black, and gold. This was actually a bit of a Hartford Whalers moment for me. I knew the significance of the Dutch colours to SA's white population, and I knew black, green, and gold were the ANC's colours. It wasn't until later though, when I realized you basically have a Dutch flag if you just remove the black, gold, and green portion. Well done South Africa.

From my memory, the red was chosen not for the Afrikaaners, but for the British red. The Afrikaaners are proud of their orange, white, and blue flag and those colours.

I'm not sure what American law has to say about it, but I know that in Canada it's illegal to produce the national flag in anything other than it's official colouration. Back in undergrad we tried to get a purple and white version done up for Student Government (the school's colours) but no one would agree to make it on the grounds that it was technically illegal to do so.

How do the leafs get away with it then? Because the leaf is technically different than the now old leafs logo?

I'm surprised on how unpopular this is, but I cannot stand the Giants (or almost any team for that matter) wearing grey pants. I don't know what the love is for them (maybe because their "vintage"), but they look so out of place and it's not part of their color scheme. The only color outside of their color scheme that they should being using for their pants is white because it's a neutral color.

Image result for new york giants

I know that I am crossing sports, but grey is considered a neutral colour in baseball, so it works for me.

Plus, for me, that picture is exactly how the Giants should look because that's all that i remember.

TIL that when they first added stars to the US flag for Vermont and Kentucky, they also added stripes.  The "star-spangled banner" that Francis Scott Key wrote about had 15 stars and 15 stripes.  The next update went to 20 stars, but back to 13 stripes.

Thats the US flag that I own, and am the most proud of owning

Is it common for players to bring their own batting helmets down to the minors with them? I didn't think they were that personal (but I don't know anything about baseball).

Yes, and I believe it is because of the double flaps v single flaps.

MiLB requires helmets to have ear flaps on both sides, rather than just the side facing the pitcher as in MLB.

Also, i think it might have to do with cost as well. Cheaper to let a player wear his own accessories and helmet that issue him new ones for a single game.

Montreal Alouettes look way better with the white helmet compared to the silver helmet. Same goes for Toronto's white helmet vs the blue helmet.

If the Argos could fuse the blue and white helmets it would be perfect. Argos should have a blue helmet, but the striping is perfect on the white.

I hate the word squatchee. It's a button.

I also think it's dumb how soccer calls them kits.

And finally, one that will probably get me shooed off this board entirely......

    I dont like hockey.

With soccer at least, the word kit refers to the shirt, shorts, and socks. The whole kit, not just the jersey.

Do agree on the button though.
