  1. Except for the fact that the second anyone looks at those feathers, they’d know exactly what’s implied. You can’t tell me someone could look at this and not think of the previous name Of my own opinion, I think it’s aesthetically a great logo on paper. However, it’s time to cut all physical ties to the old name. That includes the feathers. Regardless of whatever coverup you want to give it.
  2. Ah shoot. You’re right about that. I do think a rabbit themed identity could be a breath of fresh air to the league though.
  3. If they go with an animal, it would be wise to avoid a bird name. There are five bird teams already. No need for a sixth. “Wolves” is probably the best one to go with, however there could be other interesting options like- • Coyotes (Regional) • Cottontails (Regional) • Mammoths (Honoring the Smithsonian) As far as personal opinion, I still hold my stance that “Thirty-Twos” is the most intriguing option.
  4. It still doesn’t mean they should keep “Red-” nor should they be meta about it and say “Dark Red[insert name]”
  5. If they want Redtails for the new name, they can easily pick Pilots or Aviators to honor the Tuskegee Airmen. It doesn’t explicitly have to be “Redtails” to get the point across. Same deal for Redwolves. They can call themselves the Wolves and be done with it. Utilizing “Red-” would 100% be a deliberate handicap the team can absolutely avoid.
  6. The burgundy & gold are staying. Ownership already said months ago that was the only thing going to survive. It’s definitely a way of saying “This is the team you know and love.” No one is saying the franchise or fans are “dropping the team’s tradition” cold turkey and starting anew. There’s really nothing the team is trying to disconnect either in terms of tradition. They don’t erase the logo or the name from photos, documents, etc. Its all still there. The team has just chosen to not say the name or acknowledge the old logos. Everything pre-2020 is “in Washington franchise history”. Which is completely fine on all accounts. The fans that don’t like the name change are just stubborn mules at this point. You can’t do anything to change their minds.
  7. Except it kinda does. It’s still derived from the older Native American head logos that Washington used.
  8. Top 3 current uniforms in MLB (in no particular order)-
  9. The team itself has definitely started to acknowledge their past Super Bowl wins and anything pre-2020 as just “in Washington franchise history”
  10. It’s an acknowledgment of something they shouldn’t acknowledge any further. The history is the franchise. Not the name.
  11. It’s a handicap that allows continuously deliberate slip ups with the old name amongst at least fans
  12. Which is why I think any potential name with “Red” in it should be removed from consideration
  13. I just bought this maybe 5 minutes ago. That first smell you get... YEESH. Atrocious. Has a very dense black liquorice/licorice taste
  14. It at least makes sense when referring to the franchise unlike many of the other options
  15. I’m warming up to the idea of 32 FC. Just call them the “Thirty-Twos”
  16. I’m fine with Pilots. @burgundy “Belters” is more than likely pertaining to the Beltway around DC
  17. I’ve always thought the Maple Leafs uniforms kinda sucked. Then again, I’m not exactly a huge hockey uniform enthusiast either.
  18. Blue Sky is damn near the best soda I’ve ever had. Just behind Cheerwine
  19. I’d argue that a painting is different. With comic books, there’s more than just the art. Say you buy a 12 pack of beer because the packaging looked great, but you ended up liking the beer. Same deal with a comic book. You buy the book for the cover art, but end up reading it and actually liking it.
  20. Say you buy the comic book for the cover art, put it in a sleeve, and hang it up somewhere to admire. Which some people do. Then what? At that point, you bought the product strictly for the brand design and nothing else.
  21. The lowest number a LB should ever be able to pick is 20
  22. We need more teams in baseball to have sleeve numbers like the Phillies
  23. A lot of people buy comics for the art. Sure the story is there, but the artwork ties it together. As far as another product I intend on buying because of the branding- I’m a sucker for simplistic designs like this
