Taulia, younger brother of Tua Tagovailoa , has had quite the interesting few months following the end of the 2023 CFB season.

First, he opts out of Maryland’s bowl game vs Auburn.

Second, he enters the transfer portal to seek a 6th year of eligibility and promptly gets denied.

Thirdly, he plays in the East-West Shrine game for Maryland (which personally if I was Maryland Athletics, I wouldn’t allow after he tried to jump ship).

Fourthly, he did not receive an invite to the 2024 Combine.

Fifthly, he reportedly sucked at his Pro Day.

Get ready to learn UFL, Buddy.

Same deal like with NFL, but this time with spring ball. Clearly a drastically smaller sample size of 4 games a week, so 2 Best & 2 Worst. We’ll see if this works. Let’s jump in—

Battlehawks @ Panthers

The most complete looking game. Great uniforms from both teams, even if Michigan changed their pants stripe to something Bengals-esque.

Showboats @ Roughnecks

Normally not a fan of Houstons three color helmet and “oil slick” gradient. As well as an overall dislike of shoulder yokes, especially by both teams. The matchup was fine.

Worst

Defenders @ Brahmas

Would it kill San Antonio to have yellow pants? Speaking of pants, DC needs some stripes on those red pants.

Stallions @ Renegades

Birmingham’s duds aren’t necessarily bad, but they need some gold on those white pants. Speaking of duds, that’s exactly what Arlington wears every week. Trash.

I feel like the Stallions could be the UFL’s version of the 49ers.

Ah, people getting fooled by blatantly obvious fashion jerseys.

I think it was kinda both? They distributed the 8 teams that got cut and I’m pretty sure players who played for the remaining teams, but left for various reasons were able to return to those teams.

The cameras are making Michigan’s gold pants look funky. At one angle they’re pale gold, another angle they’re more mustard gold, and another angle is the correct gold.

I also noticed the logo sits higher depending on the helmet style. Just a nitpick but that’s not exactly ideal.

I sure do wish Birmingham’s white pants striping matched the jersey. The lack of gold is a uniform killer.
