I explained why he said it. The fact it's sudden death is OT. But for timing rules, that's the setup. It's a new half. In the regular season, it's not. Also goes until there's a winner. Another difference from the regular season. -

Because, rules wise, other than timeouts, they are. The 5th quarter would play into the 6th quarter, but the 6th quarter would have a two minute warning and the end of the 6th quarter would be the end of a half. A new kickoff would happen to start the third OT (7th quarter) with the team that lost the OT coin flip choosing what to do with the ball. -

Cincinnati giving up 9 sacks to the Chiefs is a blowout loss. Rams might be the only team to contest the Chiefs and that's only because it'll be a home game and enough LA wealth will buy up over priced tickets to make it somewhat of a home game for the Rams. 49ers? If they luck their way to the Super Bowl they better hope Cincy pulled the miracle because that's the only way they're going to have a chance to win a ring this year. -

Clevejack.... The Rams were defending NFL champions when they moved to Los Angeles. Not sure how you can get any better than that. -

My favorite to least favorite Super Bowl matchup (uniforms notwithstanding) Bills-49ers (the SB the 90s never saw) Bengals-49ers (Because WTF not? 3rd Time) Bills-Rams (Back-to-back home teams in the Super Bowl) Chiefs-Bucs (SB Rematches, and Chiefs in third straight, not that fun) Bills-Packers Bills-Bucs (Does anyone really want to see the Bills play Brady again?) Chiefs-Packers (Super Bowl I rematch) Chiefs-Rams (ooh, the colors, also: back-to-back home teams in the SB) Chiefs-49ers (Again with a rematch a year later?) Titans-49ers Bengals-Rams (Home team? Nah. Cincy? Nah) Bengals-Bucs (80s poverty bowl) Bengals-Packers (Just, no) Titans-Bucs (SBXXXIV if the TB pass wasn't overturned and led to a TD) Titans-Rams (Oh hell no, for a lot of reasons; also SB XXXIV rematch) Titans-Packers (Primarily uniform here, just not liking it) -

But it is. Old Browns fan here. The team was originally announced as the Baltimore Browns when the move was official. It was the leverage of Cleveland with their stadium lease and the NFL basically agreeing to give Cleveland a new team to end the threat of endless lawsuits that the deal to keep the name, colors, and history in Cleveland. This was before ANY games were played in Baltimore because Modell had no intention of giving up the name. In fact, Cleveland already approved the building of a new stadium before the Browns even finished playing in Cleveland. The argument modell used for moving them. Which is sad because the Browns were offered a chance to be part of the Gateway Complex, but didn't want to give up the stadium he controlled for $1/year. Only when he lost the Indians rent, revenue and corporate money followed to the new Jacobs Field did he panick and demand a new stadium for the Browns. The guy was a horrible businessman. Even after moving the team he still was forced to sell 99% of the team. And only kept the 1% so he could stiff someone else on money for a finders fee for helping to find a new owner. -

Could they possibly get away with the Springfield Homers? I imagine that's a lawsuit instantly. Not the same situation as the Isotopes being a gag that was adapted for real life. This is one of the main characters of a three decade long show tied to the show's setting. It is great, though. Maybe the Capital City Homers? Windy Apple Homers? Capital City Windy Apples? -

Akron RubberDucks are the Perros Calientes. The hot dogs. And I think it's awesome. -
If they had orange helmets they'd be knockoffs.

It wasn't just that it was similar. It was nearly identical in design AND the user the name Jaguars as well. Hard to argue coincidence when the name even matches.

Was it here that someone suggested that maybe the LA team was going to be the Wildfires and maybe that's how/why they're now the Wildcats. Purely speculation. But their logos and design and colors fit perfectly for that name. I don't think black, orange and red for Wildcats.
