Apparently Mike McDaniel done decided to sit in on a few Clock (Mis)Management courses...

...Wonder if in all their adulation of McDaniel being a "unique personality" they bring up the last drive of this half. Sure they got a FG out of it, but geez, my guy...that there was not it.

McDaniel wasn't at his best tonight. Not going for the field goal would have been the defining moment had they not won (I thought the decision itself was fine, but using a small guy like Edmonds up the middle was dumb). Tua also made some risky plays that would've been disastrous, with the head-lowering dive against the defender for the first down (which he didn't even get) and that fact that he could've had four interceptions if it weren't for the Steelers' defenders dropping them.

Neither team scored in the second half, with both defenses looking great. I'm proud of our secondary, given that several starters were out. I'm especially proud of Noah Igbinoghene because for most of the game, he was getting outplayed, but that final interception was a big statement.

Have you paid attention to the Red Sox - Yankees rivalry at all?

Red Sox have dominated the Yankees for a better part of a decade now. Beating them in every possible round of the playoffs (Wildcard, Divisional, and ALCS).

The last time the Yankees beat the Red Sox in playoff series, Boone hit a walk off HR for them.

Yeah, they lost three series to Boston starting from 2004, so within a pretty wide stretch. They've lost to Houston in three (or maybe soon-to-be four) series within a shorter stretch of seven years. I'm focusing more on just the recent number of years rather than beyond a whole decade.

New York and Boston have met each other back to back for a century, they play in the same division, they see each other more often, so there is bound to be moments where one gets the upper hand on the other. These are the Astros. Before 2017, they were one of the bottom tier franchises and again, I find it amusing that the Yankees are struggling against a non-division opponent that doesn't have all the pizazz like the bigger franchises do historically.

  3. The fact that Houston has owned New York in the past several years is bizarre, and honestly hilarious. It amazes me that a franchise like the Yankees, as lustrous as they are or have been historically, are actually on the bad end of a rivalry. It's usually the other way around.

  4. Clemson is looking pretty overrated. They remind me of 2014 Florida State and how they squeaked by through the soft ACC for weeks until they got to the first playoffs, getting steamrolled by Oregon.

If they get in this year, I'm not seeing a win for them.

So, I’m all for “Home field advantage”, but this seems a little ridiculous. It may just be a dumb coincidence, and I don’t really know how you fix this, but it really does feel like the Dolphins are always wrapped up in some shady :censored:.

Dolphins Clever Stadium Design Has Created A 30° Temperature Difference Between Home & Away Sidelines

I noticed this about two years after the renovations were done. I don't know if opposing teams are allowed to bring some form of shade via canopies (I guess not though since I haven't seen any), but the large temperature gap between the sidelines did raise an eyebrow. It's in a way similar to Seattle's metallic overhang reflecting the sound from the crowd right back onto the field, creating that unbearably loud echo. I don't know if it was intentional on their behalf, as I thought it was meant to keep the fans dry from the common rain in the region.

It's worth noting that Miami's home record since then is 32-20, in contrast to their poor away record of 18-33.

The announcers spent more time 💩ting on the Padres (talking about Manny opting out, wondering what they'd do if Darvish gave up more runs, etc.) and talking about Alex Cora being in the stands than they did talking positively about the Padres.

I'm genuinely sick and :censored:ing tired of the national media constantly 💩ting on the Padres because they always feel the need to pump up East Coast teams.

What they should be talking about is the Mets s******g the bed as usual, with the Padres moving on and meeting their destiny of losing to the rival Dodgers because LA > SD.

    Spoiler

I'm not advocating for any of this btw. Just seems like that's where it's all heading.
