"The 5-pointed shield stands for the PNW"
Oh please
Was Montana ever considered part of that region? I always align them with the "Rocky Mountains" or "Big Sky Country."
The green looks a little dark in the logo. I thought I remember hearing about the Mariners brightening their Northwest Green a while back, where it looked near aquamarine.

Oh.
Was there something else?
Don't think so. I didn't disappoint you, did I?
It was just a harmless nudge at the reaction to the topic at hand.

Let me make another bold prediction. The Eagles will keep the black helmet, and add a Kelly green helmet when the throwback jerseys are ready. They’ll decide to keep both, because honestly what’s stopping them. The NFL will then okay teams having an alternate helmet and a throwback helmet, as though they were ok with it all along
You want to bet against it?

Every team (with the possible exception of the Packers and Raiders) that passed on this idea this year is watching the twitter hits, the espn.com blurbs, and the Facebook chatter, and kicking themselves for not getting in on this. Next year it’ll be damn near everyone.
Alright dude I think we got it.
Alt unis and helmets: Very bad!

A lot of money to give someone, just to flame out in the second half of the season.

The "letters inside a shape" has been done so many times. Sorry not sorry, but that comes to me as very un-unique and doesn't fit the Street Fighter franchise at all.

Honestly aren't as dull as I expected. They use Cavs more than they do their own full name so they might as well just move forward with that instead of Cavaliers. It's not like anything about their identity is timeless or ever will be.
I can't wait for the new uniforms in five years.

Juan Soto rejected the Nats offer of $440 million.
It's not about the money for him; he just doesn't want to be part of the rebuild, which is understandable. He'll probably be in either Dodger blue or pinstripes by seasons end.

The identity was abysmal pre CP3-Blake-Deandre Show. After that run was over (2017/2018?) they have not been considered as the Clippers of old.
Do you really think their previous identity change was any better? It was terrible when they released it then and is now. The logos suck and even with the following tweaks to the uniforms, they still aren't very good.

Finally having a competent brass, along with being in the second largest destination market helps. Most of that wasn't always the case for them.

I'd argue "a history of losing with small pockets of success" is enough to warrant a change. The Kings of all franchises aren't a great example to compare to, especially since they've changed their identity on numerous occasions throughout their history. In regards to the Cubs, baseball is far more traditional and Chicago has at the very least won two World Series titles in their early days, even appearing in a couple more afterwards. Still, they've made several tweaks to their look in their existence.

New name or not, the Clippers identity is forgettable. Something needs to change to make them stand out better.

Would need to add tv numbers for that to happen.
They would need to either drop the shoulder stripes or the sleeve logo (the latter would be better).
Still, in this day and age... I think TVs and cameras have evolved enough where TV numbers aren't even needed anymore. The Bengals and Chargers dropped them as well, so I think we may start seeing this more with upcoming uniform redesigns from other teams.

How are Beal and Lillard still with their current teams? I thought they would've been traded long ago.

Let's not pretend Baker lived up to the hype of a number one pick, regardless of who is replacing him. I do think they should've at least waited until the end of this season before deciding to move on.
Also, he might not even start on the first week, so I'm not gonna say that matchup is a "must see."

Get rid of La Russa.

I thought Gobert and Mitchell were at odds with one another? Either way, that core was never getting passed the semifinals.

Can we even call it the "Power 5" anymore?

Denver is a pretty underrated hockey market so I'm happy for all of them.

I like those colors. It's one of the schemes I'd like to see the Clippers adopt if (or when) they ever change their identity.
A nice SoCal nod.

Yes, although it's just a regular season series, I know Yankees fans that are still bitter about 2017 and this adds fuel to their fire.

Didn't watch; didn't need to. I knew the eventual outcome.
I'm just surprised the NBA season finished before the NHL's. That doesn't seem to happen very often... at least not in this decade.

i'm in a weird transitional state where i'm starting to recognize the black gear doesn't fit with the Adidas version of the Avs as much as the original, but also still not 100% on board with the blue. I'm seeking help and soon i will make it.
Same feeling. I thought black was fine for a while, but seeing them use blue instead has kind of altered my perception. Compared to the blue, black made it too muddied and made it seem that it was the second color of the scheme over blue. They look better without the black, but the blue still feels weird to me so it might take a good while for me to adjust... but I'm pretty confident I will.

Milwaukee has lost around nine of their last ten. I was hopefully they would be the one team in the poor NL Central to keep the Cards from first, but it might end up being too close throughout the season.
-
Forgot about @TruColor. There are several different websites that list the team's associated colors and of course, they are all slightly different.
Maroon/Burgundy is such a hard color to distinguish, though looking online, I don't see a difference in both of Washington's previous and current jerseys.
-
Something I just noticed about is the colors for Washington via Pantone. From what it looks like, they changed the shade of the burgundy to more of a maroon color.
https://teamcolorcodes.com/washington-(Commanders)-color-codes/
Was this announced at any point during the unveiling process because I must've missed it. I also haven't seen the new and old uniforms side-by-side, so I don't know how different they are to one another.
-
I knew they were gonna change even before the rumors or leaks; THIS is the Cavaliers. Like almost half the league, they don't want a consistent identity and apparently they are fine with that. They just want to make money with an every-now-and-then "fresh" look and when it gets stale, they spin the wheel.
They'll probably either change the shade of colors again or add a new one in about 4-5 years.

First time I'm seeing the standings for the league and after all the talk about the Yankees and them setting history, they have the Astros not far behind them. The rest of the AL isn't anywhere near close to them, yet we have up to five (six?) teams competing for those Wild Card spots. At least one of them are gonna trip over themselves and give it away.
The NL doesn't look much different from the last few years.
