The Ducks have been pushing orange as their secondary colour for years and yet the NHL style guides continue to be weirdly insistent on beige-gold for them.

A decent looking matchup for the Heritage Classic overall. The Sabres jersey isn't especially remarkable as a slightly diferent take on their classic look, but I like the design in itself.
With the Arenas text in blue the Toronto jersey almost feels like it's meant to be a halfway point between the 1917 and 1918 versions, otherwise I'm not sure what they're going for. Or maybe they couldn't decide if they wanted it with or without the white Arenas text, either of which would have been preferable.

IT seems ThaT ToronTo is hinTing aT an AreTnas sweaTer.

We've already had the Pens swap out shoulder patches, the Wild logo on a North Stars jersey, and a mashup of eras for other teams. If the last one was a hit with Flames fans I could see them putting Blasty on a pedestal*.
*No pun intended.

I could get behind that. The purple/black colour swap would do it a favour, plus it makes sense that they'd go with something a bit different before bringing out a proper throwback (or throwback-inspired uniform) for their 30th anniversary.

I liked the Flames in red and black - not so much the white jerseys of that era, for some reason that I can't put my finger on - but I also like them without black. I used to think the retro look was a bit garish but it's grown on me a lot.
A red and black alt more like their 2004 era jersey would be neat, otherwise I think they're better off sticking with the classic colours for their primary look.

Without knowing the context of its inspiration, it comes off as something made for a pro wrestler or an over the top extreme hype video. That was my first impression anyway.
Now I have a better understanding and can appreciate how and why it came about, but "SMASHVILLE" is still groanworthy.

Tampa Bay's is the better of the two, but it's also not much different from alternates they've worn before. Very run-of-the-mill for a Stadium Series sweater.
The Bolts script is a bit tacky, but nothing will ever be as tacky as "SMASHVILLE" on a team's jersey.

It's the Ducks Reverse Retro jersey, exactly as the rumours said it would look before it was unveiled. Also, it has Ryan Kesler's name and number on it!
The best part is that they went through the trouble of embroidering the Wild Wing illustration even though that has never been done on the real versions.

"The laces represent Martin Brodeur and resemble a piece of goal netting. They also look exactly the same as the laces used by the Bruins, Canadiens, Islanders, Maple Leafs, Rangers and Sharks."

I retract my previous statement.

The current home jersey is almost a perfect balance for that colour scheme if they continue to insist on being a primarily black team. Too much orange isn't the problem, but it's too much extra crap those jerseys don't need, which is especially evident on the road whites. Why is there an extra black outline on the crest? Why is there a black shoulder yoke? Even the garish sidepanels wouldn't be as bad if not for the extra black stripe and orange pinstripes. The black jersey is a poorly thought out design and the white version is a lazy recolour.
I don't like these uniforms and yet I still kind of prefer them over the 06-14 set.

The D and the shoulder patches would certainly have been improvements, but the rest of that uniform was still boring to look at. They pushed for representing Orange County yet all it amounted to was a thin strip that faded into the black base.
The only way I'd want that brought back would be for another Reverse Retro jersey; eggplant and jade replacing black and orange, and metallic silver in place of the gold, to celebrate the "mightiest" Ducks.

Great Britain still uses a variation of that terrible spiky template and the logo is... whatever. So about what I'd expect from my own country.
-
Funnily enough for the Disney+ series, they made a mock version of the logo to get around the fact that it's owned by the NHL Ducks.

On the International NHL Shop we have - amid a boring selection of stuff - this purple Ducks hoodie with the gold triangle third jersey logo... and with the wrong shade of purple.
Style guidelines, man.

That aside, it's fine.

Looks like the ducks are just wearing old jerseys for preseason. Unless we se the crests and they have the extra flourishes the New Jersey’s do
They don't. Or maybe they do but I'm not really sure.
If any change has been made, it's so subtle that no one would notice.

They really went wild with the fauxback theme.
An M crest might have looked better but I do like the overall look. Except for the elbow plasters.

But at this point I've had this account name so long and I don't really want to have to come up with a new one.

And here's me thinking it was a reference to the Angels' Rally Monkey

Found some fake Ducks jerseys, on Amazon of all places.
They've got the current home and the 25th Anniversary third, which is laughably bad. The green's too bright (they even label it as blue!) the purple is completely different, the laces are too long, and the duck mask is oddly mishapen. But at least it's got that little Adidas logo on the hem, unlike the real one.

I liked the jade yoke. Nice to have more colour on an otherwise black heavy jersey.
A rebrand might make sense for the post-Getzlaf era and with the upcoming 30th Anniversary, but as early as next season? Somehow I doubt it. Then again the Samuelis seem to really like that orange jersey.
It looks OK, but there's not much contrast between the black and grey. What they have now makes more sense if their goal is to promote it to primary.
