I hate pinstripes. All of them. Yankees, Rockies, White Sox, Phillies, Magic, etc. Even suits.

I get that some of those uniforms are "untouchable" but they look like pajamas or clown clothes to me.

It's because clowns are purposely trying to look like more respectable clowns by copying the Yankees look. I have no doubt that this is done on purpose. It's the same reason clowns have NNOB and no manufacturer logos on their clown suits.

But they are "wrong" uniforms because we're not used to them yet and we can only go off of how we feel right now. Brandon Phillips in a Braves uniform is his wrong uniform. Maybe he has a huge comeback and the Braves unexpectedly win the World Series while he wears that uniform. At that point it won't be a wrong uniform, but RIGHT NOW as of this post it doesn't look right.

Yes, that's fair and I understand that but it's not nearly in the same category as something like Mike Piazza in a Marlins uniform, David Ortiz in a Twins uniform, and Frank Thomas in an A's uniform. I dunno maybe I want like a disclaimer or something.

    Here's my unpopular opinion...

    I hate soccer jerseys...

It seems like every year they're switched up, and the only thing that stays the same is the ad in the front. And then I don't understand the clash kit. I mean I get why they have it, and that makes sense, but they almost never seem to share any of the same colors, or the same design.

Almost every other sport follows some unspoken uniform rules, but soccer doesn't really follow anything...

Amen. Even knowing that the ad in the center is just an ad, I still look at soccer team uniforms and think the ad is the team. I see someone with the jersey and think "oh their favorite team is Qatar Airways"

MLB The Show preview shows Ken Jr with the JROB. Did he even have one, ever? I highly doubt that.

If I'm not mistaken they said this was a decision made for advertising of the game and it will not actually be in the game itself. Still odd to think it was needed in the ads but if I'm not wrong in remembering this then don't worry it will be accurate in the game

    Some unpopular baseball opinions:

-Colored alternate uniforms are great.  The more the merrier.

-The Tigers and Yankees home uniforms are beyond boring.

-The Brewers navy & yellow set looks great.

-Teams with 2 different identities/color schemes (Brewers, Mariners, Diamondbacks, Padres) are smart.  All about that $$.

-The Mets should not wear pinstripes.

Wow. I would love to have you elaborate on these. It's not often one person can agree on all of those opinions at once. I'm genuinely curious.

I always wonder what silver numbers with white outlines would look like. With that, the numbers would match the pants colors and the shoulder stripes.

I don't watch or follow the NFL so I don't know if this is unpopular or not but I saw a bit of the Cowboys on Thanksgiving and I spent the time trying to figure out if the numbers were white or silver. Eventually I settled on white but my mind wouldn't let me accept that. Why don't they have silver numbers with a white outline? Wouldn't that match better with the helmet and the pants? What's the point of the white outline on white numbers? So yeah, count me in on the Cowboys needing silver numbers.

  7. Is this where to bring up the Iron Pigs using a reflective material on their jerseys? I feel like this is misleading. I'm a Marlins fan and I'm pretty sure the Marlins black alternate jersey has a reflective material on the numbers on the back. Look at the differences between #'s 73 and #1... the 1 is brighter because the player moved and the light caught the number more than on the 73. Isn't this basically the same thing? I'm sure other teams jerseys can do the same.

Re: Mariners blue/gold throwback alts not being in the game, I read an interview with one of the devs, said the reason its not in is because there are a specific number of slots, and they think the fans like using the pilots/70s/80s throwbacks and don't want to sacrifice one for the new sunday alt.

It's garbage but thats what I've seen.

Yes and no... that's only part of the problem and them putting the problem in simple terms but neglecting to mention the part of the problem that they can control.

Each team has 10 uniform slots and the devs have chosen to force 4 of those slots to be used for non-current throwbacks. For current uniforms the devs chose to only allow 4 and the M's have 5 therefore one had to go and they simply chose that one. There isn't a science behind that one... it's just what they chose. If they chose to include the blue gold throwback and eliminated, say, the teal alt then someone would have been upset at that decision too. Until that dev team decides to change the way they divide up the uniform slots (or of course until they find a way to add more slots) there will always be this problem with many teams.

FYI I know you're just quoting the devs, not attacking you here... attacking their wording.

In fact, you could say the same about anyone on the 2016 Cubs roster. Guys like Ben Zobrist, Jon Lester, Miguel Montero and maybe even John Lackey and Aroldis Chapman will now be best remembered as a Chicago Cub. Much like every member of the 2004 Red Sox, the team and those players pretty much became linked for life.

What they accomplished is huge and those players will always be linked now but there's more to that in deciding "right or wrong" uniform/team. To me when I think of those players, Zobrist is a Ray, Lester is Red Sox, Montero is a DBack, Lackey is an Angel, and Chapman is a Red.

  10. Wait wait wait... the Joe Maddon Tampa Bay "wrong uniform" argument is skewed by Cubs fans and the media because of the history that was just made. Rays fans will never forget Maddon. I'm a Marlins fan and being in Florida I'm exposed to the Rays more than many and, while still understanding Maddon's huge accomplishment with the Cubs, I can't agree with any Rays uniform being a "wrong uniform" for Maddon. Remember it is possible to have more than one "right" uniform even if one uniform seemingly stands above the rest.

  11. The Devil Rays cap in the video game and in that above throwback game was intended for use in the inaugural season but was never worn but the cap did exist and was only worn in that one throwback game. But in the video game the cap is designated as the 1998 cap and the TB cap is designated as the 1999 cap. Technically that is accurate as it's what was originally intended. The TB cap was technically considered an alternate in 98 and became the primary in 99.
