  1. We’re at EAL IS PRIMARY. Funny they couldn’t sneak that one past us (mainly because their new tweets are very out of their normal vibe.)

2 more years left with this set, if Lawrence brings success with them I doubt they change, I think they went plain to just not have issues with it, yet people are complaining for the plain nature.

(for the record I just think a number outline  is all that’s needed, I like the simplicity, and they wear the wrong colors too much)

  2. I honestly like the Jaguars logo as the patch, it keeps the shoulders clean, with numbers and the oversized cuff coloring. Same with the Steelers, the logo there means it doesn’t have to be on the sleeves.

I’d much rather the jags logo being on the uniform than “JAGUARS” at the base of the NFL logo

  3. The issue with the Texans is the division they play in, it’s full of blues and black. If they embraced red a bit more instead of being navy and white, it would work wonders for them.

also, yes, I know Reebok didn’t design all those uniforms, I meant they’re non-classic uniforms that haven’t been updated through the Reebok era. Just trying to sort things out

Last season there were a million new uniforms -- Cleveland, Atlanta, LAC, LAR, Indianapolis, Tampa Bay, New England, etc. We didn't know about all of those time last year.

Arizona has been using the same Reebok template since 2002. I don't know if there any other Reebok designs left. I highly, highly doubt Cincinnati will be the only refresh this season. Not given last season's activity, and not given Nike's general inability to keep things the same year over year.

Oh all the teams in the league, Arizona is begging for change the most. I bet this is their year.

The only reebok-era designed teams left I believe are Arizona, Denver, Baltimore, Houston, Carolina. (Cincy obviously changing).

I went through and looked at the last time teams got a new design at their uniform, which obviously applies to the 5 year rule.

Teams that have kept their look since 2012, when Nike took over, meaning are eligible for any kind of rebrand:

Cardinals, Ravens, Bills, Panthers, Bears, Cowboys, Broncos, Packers, Texans, Chiefs, Raiders, Saints, Giants, Eagles, Steelers, 49ers, Seahawks, Washington (sort-of).

    2013, eligible: Vikings

2017, not eligible (4 years): Lions

2018, not eligible (3 years): Jaguars, Titans, Dolphins

2019, not eligible (2 years): Jets

2020, not eligible (1 year): Falcons, Browns, Colts, Chargers, Rams, Patriots, Buccaneers

2021: Bengals. (Washington in the future)

Removing the "legendary looks" from the eligible teams, your pool of rebrand-able teams are:

Cardinals, Ravens, Panthers, Broncos, Texans, Saints, Eagles, Seahawks, Vikings.

If I were a betting man, I'd say we get Cardinals refresh (that will likely follow a more Rams path than a Buccaneers one) and Saints fixing things up, unifying the gold and picking their normal home/away color identity. Panthers rumors will probably run wild because us nerds hate how they translated to this template, but amount to nothing.

I don't think that's the issue at all, it's just that in all the databases, 'Football Team' is stored in the 'Team_Nickname' column, so the systems use it whenever the nickname is called for, which can lead to situations where you have "Eagles are visiting the Football Team", which looks ridiculous.

This is exactly the reason. Most places you see team names are automated procedures that pull team nicknames in. Especially with 2 LA and NY teams, much easier to use nicknames.

  6. Disclaimer: I’m not a source of any inside knowledge, just a big Jags fan.

rumors of Twitter over the season was the jags are going to switch to teal primary instead of black. I believe rules allow them to. There have been many complaints of “were only allowed to wear them 2 times”

unrelated, or maybe related, jags have already transitioned to 2021 and have new profile graphics to go along with it, black and white with a teal “loading” bar.

as a fan, we should absolutely be teal primary. It’s by far our best looks

  7. As a Penn State student, I can tell you this:

If all rules regarding Covid and such were applied, we were going to Indy to play NW. Not a chance should that have happened. I hate the Buckeyes but the Big Ten has been kicked around on national media for a few years now. Ohio State has the best team they've had in a looooong time. The Big 10 was better off letting OSU play and try to make the CFP, last night shows that they made the right call. Don't forget, the one game they missed wasn't their fault at all. If OSU got beat by NW or pummeled by Clemson, Indiana has every right to be pissed. But making the Championship on a technicality? And may I bring back the Indiana-PSU game? They didn't really deserve it in the first place, at least in my opinion.

Back to the world of design, yes, it feels like this whole Bowl Season is just lets get by so we can do it next year. I normally know all the matchups and predict the games because of the tie ins but the whole deal feels bland this year. Colored endzones go a loooooong way to making games feel special. Not having them kinda kills the vibes.

Also Iowa State has a top 10 uniform with the red-red-gold. The all-black is criminal. Oregons Yellow-White-Yellow looks real good, it feels like they're starting to build an identity besides gimmick unis *wow!*

  8. Easily the best black uniform Georgia has rolled out, and it doesn't feel like its BFBS. I dig the collar, id much rather it be that than the full red which we see in the Chubb picture. Wouldn't *love* it for a full time look, but its a great 1-off / alt.

I don't think there is any concern about clashing. A few years ago, I attended the Pitt/Georgia Tech game when Pitt wore navy blue and Vegas gold. There were several times during the game where i was momentarily confused as to which team was which due to the clash of colors.

I dont think the yellow v gold is a clashing issue, but its a lot closer than gold v blue. I hate when teams come in to Penn State and wear all white, as penn state's home uniform is so white-heavy, it gets lost, especially on the rainy days

  10. I am a Penn Stater so naturally I hate Pitt. but, the Blue and Yellow of now is way better than the Navy and Gold of past. The yellow really pops in person. The blue pants are not as good as the yellow, (and the stripe in them is not the same color as helmet and jersey because of the pattern. But they are playing BC who has gold and gold, it may just be a clash look, and not them trying to make it stick.

Ole Miss, the gray pants look i actually did like. But i'm totally cool with the white too. However, there needs to be more red on the uniform. The helmet is so off when they wear the set they do, so either like a red number outline, or some red pant stripe, just something. Or change the helmet to match the look a bit more.

SN: When did Louisiana-Lafayette start going by just "Louisiana"?

Not to self promote but I have my own mathematical college football algorithm ranking, and I programmed it 2 years ago under “Louisiana Lafayette”

now this has become the norm on me and I hate hate hate it. I’m from PA and to me it’s always been LSU, LA Tech, Louisiana Lafayette, and Louisiana Monroe.

New York knights just LOOKS too close to the knicks so that’s probably also a no

  13. One I thought of, not sure if it's been mentioned....

Someone could do a soccer-Nascar crossover, or vice versa. That'd be an interesting series.

I actually have a couple as just a personal Motorsports to soccer deal. After I'm through with the xfl (plus a side project) I might post those
I will be makin soccer players on race cars, with team kits inspiring the cars, to be "driven" by the soccer players
