  1. Big Ten Tournament - Gainbridge Fieldhouse I am continually disappointed by the the Big Ten Tournament courts. The bland black courts get a splash of color. The tournament's mosaic pinwheel logo spirals out from mid court into the boundary. The host city's name moves from the baseline to just in front of the scorer's table.
  2. Northwestern Wildcats - Welsh Ryan Arena Minor tweaks for the Wildcats. The 'Northwestern stripes' on the baseline now wrap around the entire court. The four 6 pointed stars from the chicago flag are added to the bottom of the court to mirror the "Chicago's Big Ten Team' nickname.
  3. Penn State Nittany Lions - Bryce Jordan Center Penn State's identity is simple and traditional. Their court is no different. A very light, almost white, stain to the wood contrasts with the narrow dark blue boundaries. The exaggerated midcourt line is a nod to the Nittany Lions' football helmet and single stripe motif .
  4. THE Ohio State Buckeyes - Value City Arena The Buckeyes' court burst out from the midcourt logo in an octagonal pattern. The sidelines lose the gray trapezoids to accentuate the merit 'stickers'. The sticker motif spills onto the court in the lane.
  5. Nebraska Cornhuskers - Pinnacle Bank Arena The CornHuskers' court takes on a vertical wood pattern to evoke the amber waves of grain cultivated across the state. The boundary is split between scarlet and a dark wood stain by a white and scarlet stripe that mirror's the angle and outline of the crossbar in Nebraska's "N" logo.
  6. Illinois Fighting Illini - State Farm Center I'm a pretty big fan of Illinois' current court, so I had a tough time tying to improve on it. The Illini receive a slight tweak to the wood stain, and gone are the painted lanes. The text on the sidelines and baselines flip from blue to white. Finally a subtle pattern inspired by the excommunicated Cheif Iliniwek's head dress stretches across the boundary.
  7. Iowa Hawkeyes - Carver-Hawkeye Arena The new Hawkeyes court takes inspiration from the team's history. The wordmarks that straddle the baseline and sideline come from the court used between at least 1987 and 1993, so do the yellow lanes. The parquet court is carried over from the team's current floor, as is the Tiger-Hawk at mid court. The middle of the floor remains unpainted, similar to the court from 1983. Finally, the America Needs Farmers logo is situated on the sideline above midcourt.
  8. Michigan Wolverines - Crisler Center The winged helmet comes to the hardwood. Michigan's iconic winged helmet has become an iconic symbol of the university and is used for multiple sports (baseball, field hockey, hockey, lacrosse). So why not basketball? The mid-court block 'M' changes from blue to maize. It just feels right in a way the blue 'M' never has. The court is outlined in blue with a subtle "Michigan Pattern" that the Wolverines have been using since their switch to the Jumpman. Finally the maize lanes return from the Fab 5 era. 9. I've got some ideas for other teams. I may pick and choose some from different conferences once I finish the B1G
  10. Wisconsin Badgers - Kohl Center The Badgers get a new horizontal chevron floor pattern a nod to their motto "Forever Forward", which itself is a nod to the state's motto "Forward". The "Forward" motif spills onto the sidelines in the form of two large white chevrons.
  11. Minnesota Golden Gophers - "The Barn" I've taken advantage of The Barn's large sidelines that unlike other courts are not blocked by fans to create a 3D effect that exaggerates the arena's elevated playing surface. This is a similar effect to the raptors old baseline wordmark. The wood on the Gophers' court is a wide chevron pattern meant to evoke the water of the states 10,000 lakes.
  12. I can not take credit for the template. I wish I could remember who made it or where I found it.
  13. Michigan State - Breslin Center The Spartan's court gets the same Greek styled key trim that runs down their uniforms and offset wordmarks, similar to the Grizzlies. I thought a parquet pattern for the floor would pair nicely with the square key motif... and as we all know parquet floors and green are a match made in heaven Boston.
  14. Purdue Boilermakers - Mackey Arena I've never loved Purdue's shade of gold, especially when painted on a court that is such a similar color. Initially, I'd designed this court to only use black paint letting the color of the wood stand in for gold. But I decided to upgrade Purdue's gold using a more eye catching metallic gold paint, similar to the football team's helmets. The boundary's are stained black rather than painted and a pair of train tracks run from baseline to baseline. I also played around with a "cow catcher" floor pattern, but I don't think it works.
  15. Maryland Terrapins - Xfinity Center The terps floor takes on a new floor patterned after the black and yellow quadrant of the state flag. The yellow portions of the flag are set at a 45° angle and the black 180° the opposite direction. I think this ends up looking a bit like a turtle's shell. I've also removed the painted lanes to let the floor shine through.
  16. For this series, I plan on redesigning all of the basketball courts in the B1G while drawing some inspiration from the boundary-pushing NBA courts of recent years that have introduced unique wood patterns (Grizzlies, Nets, Hornets). Indiana Hoosiers - Assembly Hall The Hoosiers replace their standard wood pattern for a candy striped chevron pattern while maintaining the classic paint scheme. Rutgers Scarlet Knights - "The RAC" The State University of New Jersey blends past and present by bringing back the parquet pattern inside the three point lines. The baselines and sidelines are exaggerated, similar to the Raptors', and create a striping pattern that calls back to the piping of the 1983 team.
  17. 2020 Stadium Series Game Striping on LA's gray jerseys is inspired by the paint jobs of WW2 allied planes. The jersey is finished with a chrome monochromatic logo and military-inspired numbers. Striping on Colorado's navy uniforms draws inspiration from the Air Force's National Star Insignia. The uniforms feature chrome numbers and lettering across the chest. Each player's jersey features a unique ribbon stack that highlights their nation and achievements.
  18. 2020 Winter Classic All striping and applications on each uniform is a cotton felt-like fabric as a nod to the Cotton Bowl. Nashville's uniforms are inspired by the Dixie Flyers. The city's music history is seen in the eighth note in the "Nashville" script and the six strings featured on the yellow stripes. Dallas's home white uniforms take cues from the Dallas Texans.
  19. Vegas Golden Knights I was inspired by the third jersey I created for Vegas to update my previous take on their Home and Road Jerseys.
  20. Here is an alternate "wild" idea I had for Minnesota
  21. Vegas Golden Knights "Vegas Nights" Third | Heather pattern throughout the jersey
