Just finished a Texas Tech revamp. Not sure if it's been done yet, but I did it regardless.
Getting all of those points done in PowerPoint is super time consuming

It was actually for Boise State, but it looks good either way since there's no name attached to it.
Thank you!
Oh lol. I thought for sure with the colors it was a Broncos logo Thanks for pointing that out.

Before I get deep, there has been a lot of great work posted on here! I'm mad at myself for not keeping up with it!
The last couple of posts have brought up a topic that I always struggle with. When do we as the artists own the work? I like to think that as soon as you put pen to paper (or pen tool to digital art board) you own that design. However, when you are doing a logo update you aren't creating a unique design, you are improving an existing one. So do you own the rights, or does the school? See Shepard Fairey's HOPE poster for example.
I was always taught growing up that the only way to cheat in art is to put your name on someone else's work. Unfortunately, that's not how copyright laws work and it's not that easy to understand. In this case, someone clearly took Ren's logo and started using it for profit, which is definitely a no-no in my book.
Im curious what Ren and others think on this topic, especially with the theme of this thread!
You've brought up an interesting point I've never considered before. I'm not really sure where I stand on that.
As an artist who puts time and effort into redoing these logos, I'd like to receive some sort of recognition for doing that logo. It's one thing if the original school is profiting off of one of my logos, I would be fine with that even if they only credited me by adding my name. But when a person who we're assuming is not connected to the school in any way, is profiting off of one of our logos I would consider it to be theft. The least that person could have done was ask for permission, but of course it seems like these days if a person sees a logo on google or what not they think it's fair game. That's my two cents on it.
On another note, I finished a new vintage logo.
This time it's the Denver Broncos, as requested by @ihaveno

Of course we care when someone rips off one of Ren's logos, or anyone's for that matter.. Thanks for notifying us, hopefully Ren will be able to send a cease and desist.
On another note, I should have another update posted soon

@Paul Lucas that Chicago White Sox logo has been done & can be found here
There's an index on the OP with most of the logo's done here minus the newer one's.
Thanks! And if I'm not mistaken, wasn't the Padres logo updated somewhere on the board?

Yeah. I just like the NYS flag with the design. Not with the crests, but with how it represents New York decently with the Hudson River.
Point taken. If New York could find a way to simplify and keep the main elements of the flag I would have no problem with it.
Welcome to the boards btw

Well, I'm okay with the New York City flag more than the New York State flag. I like Florida the best, since I like of how the red X seems to be fitting towards the emblem.
True. I don't mind the NYC flag, but crests on state flags get old.

The best state flags to me are:
Colorado
Connecticut
New Jersey
New York
California
Florida
I don't think I have any least favorite US flags. Not that I think they're bad, but most of them are decent nonetheless.
If California simplified the bear on the flag, it would hands down be one of the best state flags. Even though New York is my home state, I just hate flags with crests. I just cannot stand them.
My favorite state flags are the following:
Texas
California
Rhode Island
Alaska
Alabama
New Mexico
Maryland
Colorado
Tennessee
And I'll throw in Indiana and Ohio because I'm half and half on those.

Bravo!!!!! Fantastic work. If you're up for it, there's a couple of great ones out there in need of updating. I just don't wanna be That guy. Unless you'll do it, lol.
Great work, @ZionEagle and thank you for creating this gold mine, @ren69
Thank you so much! Glad you liked it. Oh that's no problem at all, gives me something to do. I have about 6-7 logos lined up that I picked from this thread. I should have one more up by tomorrow.

Aw thanks. I appreciate the compliment. I think some of the linework could be improved a little, but I'm pleased with the overall result. This is addicting

@ren69Well thanks for letting me post! It's an honor
EDIT: I finished this Detroit tigers vintage logo update yesterday. I don't believe it was requested, but I think it's okay to post.

@ren69 I hope you don't mind me hijacking your thread, but I love this concept so much I wanted to help out with a logo
This is an update of the Miama Marlins logo, per @Paul Lucas's request.

@jlnhlfanBuddy, bumping your post won't make ren69 complete your request faster. Be patient, these things take a lot of time and effort, he'll get to it eventually.
@ren69This thread is just full of amazing concepts. Congrats on your 100th, I wouldn't even dream of continuing on of my projects for that long

NFL: Detroit Lions- My dad's family came from Michigan originally and he brought us up as die-hard Lions fans. When I was little, he used to scare us into rooting for them by "threatening" to take our candy away. Ironically, as I got older I grew to love the team of my own choosing, and I guess it just stuck.
My second team would be the Broncos, for some reason my family's always followed them as the second team....and they certainly win more often.
College football: I don't follow it much, but when I do I go into Michigan Wolverine mode. You can imagine my disappointment recently
Hockey: I follow I local team called the Elmira Jackals. My grandma took me to a few games and got me hooked.
Soccer: USA of course. Particularly the women's team. But I like watching Cameroon, we have friends from there.
Not really a baseball fan, and I don't watch basketball as much as I enjoy playing it.
