I have to say that I really love the new Man City home shirt. I prefer when City shirts are more white heavy, and this one works really nicely with the classy v-neck. The socks really bug me, though, as they have blue stripes instead of white:

That darker blue color is completely absent from the shirt and only appears as a small panel on the back of the shorts:

The clash shorts are that darker blue color, which may ultimately be the reason the socks feature that color more prominently.

It’s a lovely shade of blue, and I do like it being used for the clash shorts. The women will surely use these shorts instead of white like they did with the maroon shorts this year.

The trim not going all the way around the collar really bugs me

speculation in some places online and on the ground is:

colors to include black, red, gold/yellow inspired by:

    • San Diego flag
    • SD (State University) Aztecs
    • Egyptian flag (primary owner)
    • Kumeyaay tribal flag (secondary, local owner)

Makes sense but also kind of a weird choice with Tijuana's team also being red and black, unless they go more red and yellow than black.

With the Loyal's color scheme sadly appearing to be out of the picture, I wouldn't mind seeing them use the Padres brown and yellow but also add the orange from the 80's.

Alesmith uses these colors on their .394 beer and it looks great

    DESIGN

    • Took the wings or stingers from the logo and used that as the stripe
    • Used the same font

    HELMET

    JERSEY

    PANTS

    • White and green pants
    • Added the stripes

Up next will be Eastern Kentucky. Thanks for looking and as always C&C is greatly appreciated!

Sac State looks fantastic. The switch to white numbers is great. Sac State looks best as a Green/White school with gold accents rather than a Green/Gold school, leave that color scheme for Cal Poly (and Davis but with blue instead of green). The pants could get away with having no stripes but I still like them.

Cant wait for the rest of the FCS California schools.

San Antonio FC v Sunderland AFC in San Antonio at Toyota Field

Is it similar to what Toyota Field have? Those silver posts were included for when the team was trying to get into MLS, so that they could quickly emplace the required seats to keep the stadium up to MLS requirements. By having them there now they could cut down the amount of time required to retrofit the stands.

    Yeah, these black posts

  5. The Fiesta Mall site looks like a better location than Glendale to me. It's about a similar distance from Downtown Phoenix but it is closer to Tempe and Scottsdale. Mesa, Chandler, and Gilbert are the three largest cities in the Phoenix metro too, aside from Phoenix of course.

That being said I'm not going to advocate for the Coyotes staying in Arizona. But... I don't want them to move to Houston and I doubt the NHL allows them to move to Quebec even though its the right move. So maybe I am advocating for the Coyotes staying in Arizona? Unless Portland gets in on the action or Salt Lake City if they got a new arena.

I would rather see a linear type thing. Like a AL & NL for example, both Division 1, but just the last 2 place teams in each swap leagues which allows it to have an ever changing scheduled from year to year. Its not really a demotion as much as its just a way to keep the schedule fresh.

I think a 20 team eastern and western conference is the most likely, with the two conferences only meeting each other in the MLS Cup final or US Open Cup and other tournaments.

I'd hope the pant stripes can be done, but unless they took the stripes off the chest and placed them on the sleeves I don't think they'd be on the jerseys, at least for this year unless they're already producing them before the announcement.

Speaking of, do we expect Cal to carry over their UA uniforms to Nike this year? At least with these there's not a lot of things to change over.

I do not understand why so many people seem to be looking to Joe Lacob -- the man who moved the Warriors from an arena next to the Oakland Coliseum to their current venue in San Francisco -- as a potential savior of the A's, let alone as someone who would keep the A's in Oakland.  Yes, the Warriors have risen to probably their highest-ever levels of success both on and off the court while Lacob has been that team's principal owner.  However, that raises these two questions:

    • If Lacob at least seemed to think that Oakland was not good enough for the Warriors, then why would he deem Oakland to be good enough for the A's?
    • Between Lacob and his business partners moving the Dubs across the Bay and the present effort by John Fisher and his group to secure an escape from Oakland for the A's, why should Oakland Mayor Sheng Thao and her allies trust Lacob as the main owner of the A's?

I don't think the two situations are very comparable. Staying in Oakland was never a real option for the Warriors and I think most people at the time of the original announcement understood why.

Lacob's goal from day one was to make the Warriors one of the most valuable franchises in the league and that was never going to happen playing in Oakland (or so we thought). The Warriors represent the entire Bay Area and they wanted to play their games in the iconic city of the Bay Area, making them more marketable to fans and to free agents (which is an understandable premise). The plan was  for the Warriors to be playing in San Francisco in a world class arena (the Bay Area's own version of MSG or Staples Center) right when the team would hopefully start competing for championships (likely dropping the Golden State name for San Francisco too). Of course that's not what ended up happening as the arena got delayed and eventually changed locations while the team became one of the all time great dynasties and most valuable franchises anyway while still playing in Oakland which made the eventual move awkward.

Lacob is on record saying that the A's should remain in Oakland. If he was to buy the team, I see no reason why he wouldn't pull out all the necessary stops to remain in Oakland and build a new ballpark on his dime.

2023 quite frankly might as well be 'College Football: The Last Dance"

That's how I feel too. I don't how much of this sport I'll enjoy anymore moving forward, especially if the Pac-12 falls apart.

And what's the fascination some people have with many of the stadiums looking similar to each other? So what!  When I tune in to TV to watch an MLS match I'm not looking at the 🤬ing architecture of the stadium around the field of play.

Isn't that what we do here man

They used to be pretty high profile, thanks in large part to having Shaq-Penny-T-Mac-Dwight Howard pretty much one right after the other. Magic jerseys were a common sight in the early 00s. But they imploded after the Howard era and have spent the last decade being Hornets south.

(I was gonna go on to say that they've been terrible drafters during that time, but after looking it up, eh not really. They just never bottomed out at the right time until the Banchero draft. But while looking this up I learned that they drafted Domantas Sabonis, then immediately traded him and Victor Oladipo for Serge Ibaka, then traded Ibaka at the following trade deadline for a box of Nutri-Grain bars.)

Anyway, the Nashville people have no actual money, and nobody in Portland is interested. Salt Lake might be decent, if they actually build that place, if the Sunday thing really isn't an issue like some people claim, and if the Miller group is still capable of being principal owners of a big-four team. If not then that's just another Nashville, i.e. just randos with a website.

Ah yeah the Hornets are more forgettable. You know a team is the most forgettable when you forget about them when talking about what team is the most forgettable.

The Nashville money thing could be a real issue, I doubt they get any public funding after the Titans stadium got approved. People in Portland are interested, it's just that they were the first to announce their intentions to secure an expansion team back in 2017 and since then interest has kind of waned due to no news on expansion and now other cities are getting all the publicity because they're announcing their plans when the topic is hot.
