Why do they have to be so ridiculously sized. Not even regular patches are that large right?

Nike does such a terrible job with UCLA style shoulder stripes, just absolutely abysmal.
The frustrating part is that I have to believe there's a solution to be had, they just aren't interested in the time and effort it would take when it's so much more profitable to just plug everyone in to their existing templates. And obviously, the teams don't care enough (or probably even think about it enough) to fight them on it.
And there's visual proof that it can be done. As a whole Nike's design work is well above what Under Armour puts out, but one area where UA is unarguably head and shoulders above Nike is in this type of traditional shoulder stripping...
If you look at the before and after with Nike's takeover of UCLA you'd have to be one of those people who really just don't care about these things to not see what's obviously a regression in the way this style of stripping is supposed to work...
Taken as a whole, Nike probably wins in the Nike vs Under Armour vs Adidas football uniform argument, but it's annoying that their status at the top of the heap has let them get lazy when it comes to things like this and their stubborn insistence on forcing teams into their per-existing color choices.
They're making plenty of money. They can do better.
Hot take here...
Nike does it better

Brooklyn would for sure benefit from some accent color. The mint/teal color would look great. Especially to tie into the Liberty
I feel like that color combo is overplayed now with the Liberty and Gotham FC.
I like the Nets in black and white but if they HAD to add an accent color I still think Dodger blue would be the best.

EXTREMELY bad look for Anthony Rendon. Hopefully he catches a large fine and suspension for this. No matter what the fan said to him (and after this, he’s probably right), you simply cannot do that kinda crap. What a loser.
Sheesh what a bad opening day for the Angels

Nokia (the company) never went away or under by the way.
They focused on networking and IoT-tech and are a big player there today after Microsoft bought their mobile phone business in 2014.
Present day "Nokia" mobile phones are licensed by HMD (Ex-Nokia people who basically bought the patents/rights back) and manufactered by someone else.
Sadly they have almost nothing in common with the wonderful Lumia's of Nokia's past who had awesome designs and lots of hardware inovation.
Still have my beloved
Nokia Lumia with Windows 8.1 - such a beautifuyl device and OS.
Windows Phone and the Lumia's were so underrated

I have a feeling that Fresno would be the new Utah and TCU if invited to the PAC or Big 12.
I think they could be competitive in the Pac-12. Last year, they handled WSU in the LA Bowl and lost to 10 win Oregon State on the last play of the game. The USC game was a different story but Fresno had some key players go down with injuries. They've won their past 4 matchups against UCLA. I mean there is a reason Cal and Stanford don't schedule Fresno State, they don't want to lose and have their stadiums taken over by the Red Wave..

It's still more than anything Fresno has ever accomplished. Aside from pumping out the Carr brothers, i have a hard time coming up with anything Fresno State has ever done.
And again, Vega$ >>> Fresneck. Fans will travel to Vegas. Nobody's going to Fresno to watch their school then party the rest of the weekend
Also, your main argument for adding UNLV is that it'll be a good place for other fans to travel too? Not because they already have great home atmospheres or successful teams? Sounds like a recipe for disaster.

Absolutely not. Fresno may be a Central Valley cow town, but Fresno State is head and shoulders a better/more prestigious school than UNLV. UNLV has SO many issues that’ll prevent it from ever having the heft to actually be worth anything, too. It’s still for all intents and purposes a commuter school.
Neither school should get any consideration though so the point is mostly moot. SDSU isn’t really a stellar pick, but it has potential. It’s basically same level as Arizona State. Long term I almost think a better idea would be to try and develop a stronger athletics program at one of the UC schools, but that’s probably not a realistic ask.
Totally agree, people are really sleeping on what Fresno State brings to the table. The San Joaquin Valley is home to over 4 million people compared to the 2.5 million in the Vegas metro area. Sure it's Fresno and not glamorous Las Vegas but Fresno State actually has a legit fanbase that goes to games (one of the top G5's in attendance this past year) and travels well (see anytime they play UCLA, SDSU, etc.), unlike UNLV. The football success already speaks for itself and UNLV can't come close to matching that.
SDSU will be an all around fantastic add to the Pac, really excited for when that happens.

I like UNLV's chances above Fresno State. Both have viable football and hoops programs. But having a team in Vegas >>> having a team in Fresno.
UNLV has a viable football program? Since when?

That was a really good tournament, but the Championship game sort of laid out my biggest frustration with the WBC as a whole through the first two decades. Every time we do this, it feels like these countries send out their best rosters, except for the USA. This year was definitely good in terms of hitters, but it still feels like the pitching staff isn’t fully there. There are so many big name pitchers who are American, and the best you have for the championship game is Merrill Kelly and Aaron Loup? Really? Maybe it’s just my American ego and sense of entitlement coming out, but I still feel like through the first five times we’ve done this, we’ve yet to see anywhere near the best roster from the Americans. It feels like MLB is sort of kneecapping their chances at bringing in younger/different fans by still having a large chunk of their domestic born stars not take the WBC seriously enough to even be there. I get the injury concerns, but this tournament really feels like it could cement itself as a legitimate competition and a WBC title could end up being coveted. But it’s never going to get anywhere near that if you have so many of your big stars not participating. But how do you incentivize it? Can you really put the cart before the horse like that? That’s a tough one to figure out.
Also, Ohtani is one of the most impressive players I’ve ever seen. I really hope the Angels can pull their heads out and compete this season or that dude is going to be a :censored:ing Dodger.
USA's lineup was stacked this year. We had three MVP's at the top of the lineup (it would of been 4 too if Harper wasn't injured). Yeah the starting pitching was lackluster but the bullpen had two of the best in the game (Williams and Pressly). The whole roster this year was better than 2017, even the pitching, and it'll probably be even better in 2026.
Even with the best lineup in the tournament with the hottest hitter we only got 2 runs on Japan. I'm not gonna put the loss on the pitching, Japan was just better last night.
